Stainless Steel Heavy Duty Fine Mesh 13" Splatter Screen with Resting Feet and Handle Grip

I have come to trust LiveFresh for their quality of products! The mesh screen is even and uniform. Perfect splatter guard, it absolutely gets the job done and catches everything. To test it out, I put wet potatoes in some hot oil and you can only imagine how much pain I'd be in if it weren't for this guard. This fits on multiple size pans, including the 12" pan so I'm happy with my investment in this product. I feel like this will last me for years to come. The edges are well approximated, I don't see anything but the metal ridge, no mesh coming through it.

overall seems very good Have to be careful with the overhang over flame, singed the edge pretty quick after we got it, need to be careful with the way the screen overhangs some pans. Very substantial product, looks like it will last

The splatter shield works on my electric skillet to prevent the popping caused by water trapped in eggs when they are fried. It is also very helpful when cooking anything that may pop or splatter while cooking. I used to get burns on my arms when cooking in the electric skillet but this screen solved the problem.

Why didn't I get this a long time ago? Helps keep grease splatter to a minimum without stewing whatever you are sauteing. Using this all the time. I think everyone needs this kitchen helper right away.

*** add on edit: I did get a response from the company and they feel a bad item got through their quality control. They are offering to replace the item and refund as well, which I did not expect. I feel that is a very good response, and have upgraded my review to reflect that and will upgrade it further yet if the new item performs as expected. I didn't mean to be scathing but I was alarmed at the multiple colors my screen turned within the matter of seconds, and feared a fire or worse.Perhaps my expectation was different. I use my splatter screen for when I am frying something on the stove top, not for straining. I did just that while cooking a steak-- to protect my stove top. Well, it did keep the splatters in but it turned black on the edges! The whole thing looks terrible now. And this was my first use. I used it another time at a lower temperature and it did the same. So, I'm not clear why no one has mentioned this. Did I get a one off product, or am I using it incorrectly. It did have an overhang over the top edge of the pan of 1 inch or so, but I'm expected it to be one splatter guard fits all.. Very disappointed.

This is much more sturdy than the one I am replacing. A common problem with these is the mesh pulling out of the rim. The rim is very substantial on this, more than just crimped on. I don't expect to have the same problem. The mesh is also more dense, so I think less spatter will get through.

This item works really well! The only reason why I did not give this five stars is because it doesn't looks like the picture. The handle is just metal it doesn't have that black insert on it.

Bought it on an amazon suggestion and have not regretted it. It is built much better than the last one I had and is reinforced by cross arms.Good value for the money.

70% of my cooking I prepare and cook within a wok, I find it out standing for most of my meals, more contoll easy to clean, the mesh I have purchased from this unique supplier, dose two things that satisfy my cooking needs.Firstly: and most importantly, it's a splatter guard, and dose the job perfectly.Secondly: when preparing food with a wok we use the lid that comes with it, I don't, I use the guard, why? because using the lid retains the moisture, making the food soggy and colorless. with the guard of course, it lets the moisture excape leaving your creation perfect every time. and it's remarkably inexpensive, a must in every kitchen. Il prodotto, arrivato puntualmente e ben imballato, ha superato le mie aspettative, quanto a dimensioni e robustezza. La maglia metallica è davvero fitta e sembra di ottima qualità. I piedini sono abbastanza alti da permettere una perfetta areazione se lo si usa per lasciar raffreddare le torte o scolare i fritti, ma non ingombranti se lo si usa come paraschizzi sulle padelle. Das Sieb liegt gut in der Hand, der Griff haptisch angenehm, es gibt keine scharfen Ecken und Kanten, auch die Füsschen sind schön abgerundet.Das Netz ist tatsächlich recht engmaschig, aber man muss sich natürlich vergegenwärtigen, dass der Spritzschutz irgendwann auch mal angehoben werden muss - und was dann passiert weiß jeder.Und wer mit Induktion kocht, darf erst recht keine Wunder erwarten - aber dafür kann das Produkt nun wirklich nichts...Das Sieb ist groß genug, gleichzeitig ist der Griff nicht zu lang, so dass es ohne unnötigen Platzbedarf verstaut werden kann.Es passt problemlos in die Geschirrspülmaschine und kommt ohne Farbveränderung heraus. Das Einzige worauf man achten sollte, ist die Tatsache, dass das Netz etwas empfindlich auf punktuellen Druck reagiert. Wer keine Dellen im Sieb möchte, der passt einfach ein bisschen auf...Gutes Preis / Leistungsverhätnis!
