A dust mask and eye protection are highly recommended/Saved time and money with tool.
Our dog was gone, but not her little guests. Did not wish to use poisons or other harsh chemicals. Tried this gadget with a very fine powdered "Food Grade" Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Loved that I could make a fine mist that spread the product lightly and evenly across all of the surfaces and into small spaces. I was annoyed slightly that it takes two or three compressions to lighten and even the mist when you first start and if you stop for any reason. It took a few minutes the first time to get the hang of it. Use light and gentle, but fast compressions for the most uniform coverage.Upon the first use, I very quickly realized that I needed protection for my eyes and a dust mask to filter my breathing. I also left the house for three hours to let the "dust fog" settle. Then, I vacuumed the floor lightly, and put blankets on my chairs and couches to keep the dust in the cushions, off my clothes, and out of the air. I left the blankets on for a few weeks before removing them and vacuuming the furniture. I only had to do this whole process twice in about a 6 week period as eggs hatched. It has now been 5 and 1/2 months. I have not seen any fleas since about 8 or 10 weeks after the first treatment. They were mostly gone from the couches in a few days. I just kept protecting the powder in them until the carpets and floors were also clear with no new hatchings. No pesticides, no dangerous chemicals. Just results! I bought a 5 and 1/2 pound bag of DE, and have only used about a pound of it for about 2400 square ft. I am sure I would have used much more if I had not had this wonderful little gadget. Now I am wondering if what's left will help with my yard pests! One last note, if your animals are still in the home, I recommend getting them out of the house for a few hours. Also, you may have to clean it up more thoroughly than I did by leaving the dust in my couches and corners. So, it may take more treatments closer together; I really do not know. I am very happy with our results. It is now almost three years. No more treatments, and no more more fleas. We never did have the heart to replace our beloved dog, but at least her guests are gone, too!

Works as expected
which is more than you can say about a lot of cheap, simple tools on amazon that you buy for one use.

Works, Kind of A Pain Though
We live on the edge of a forest and have a major issue with wolf spiders in my area. After all the rain and flooding last year, their population has exploded. We have an older house that isn't as well sealed around the windows as we would like, so over the past year we've been seeing more and more of these spiders coming in and setting up house in the corners around our windows and underneath the floor cabinets and pantry in our kitchen and living room.I have severe arachnophobia, I am ashamed to admit. And, while I hate causing harm to any spider because I know they're beneficial, there's just a point where enough is enough. The only thing I know of that can actually get rid of spiders ('get rid of' in a permanent sense. I know. ☹️) that is also safe to have around pets and kids is diatomaceous earth. But applying the stuff along the edges of extra large window sills and windows without getting it absolutely EVERYwhere is more or less impossible. So after doing some research I finally decided to give this duster a try.Things it does well: apply diatomaceous earth in a precise location and in a straight line.Things it doesn't do well: apply that DE in that straight line without having to stop every 5 seconds to unclog the yellow tip.Fortunately, that yellow tip is removable so I can just take it off, tap it a couple times on a hard surface like a table to knock out the clog, and put it back on the tube. Sometimes I will also have to thwack the whole duster a couple times with my other hand to dislodge clogs inside the tube part as well. It's not difficult, but it does get tedious pretty darn quickly when you have to unclog it every 3 inches or so.As for using it in the garden, I quickly gave up and just started leaving the yellow tip off. It means a lot more comes out than I necessarily need but it's still better than casting DE around with my hand.

Works great.. sometimes need to tap to clear if using the fine tip
Yellowjackets appear to be enjoying sharing our home this year... fortunately on the exterior. They found two lovely cracks to enter their abode.. next to a window (exterior) and corner of our wooden siding where the corner mold pulled off.Tried TWO different name-brand sprays to lead their demise.. one foamed, the other not. And NEITHER were effective sprayed into the cracks, around the cracks, multiple times.Tried some boric acid and this puffer thing and it WORKED. Using the fine tip on this puffer easily got into the finer cracks but sometimes would clog and need a good tap-off. Without the finer tip it puffed a wide but directed PUFF OF DOOOOM. I'd occassionally puff it into the air to make sure it was actually working and yup.. it was! It seemed to thin the flock-o-wasps pretty quickly, but some lingered for up to a month after, but we started seeing them on the ground near the crack..Effective and easy to use!

MUCH better than a ketchup bottle!
We were using a ketchup bottle to spread Diatomaceous Earth on/around our veggie plants & went thru rather quickly. This works MUCH better, spreads it out further for sure!Only downfall we found was that the yellow extender on the tube clogged up IMMEDIATELY! The size of that hole could stand to be a lil larger. No matter how we tried to squeeze it, it clogged up. But, I simply removed the yellow tip & use the white tube, it works better & spreads the DE pretty far too.One cup full does the majority of my plants...1 spaghetti squash, 5 other squash, 4 zucchini, 10 🍅, & a good chunk of my 50 🌽 plants. The dusting is lighter on the 🌽 - takes about 1/4 cup more for the entire 50. MUCH happier using this method!

Effectivie and Affordable
Effective and efficient, even if the process is a bit messy. I like that it can shoot out a stream several feet.
