Passed the test using this book and a few other resources
This book, all by itself, will probably give you enough knowledge and understanding to pass the test...as long as you get a certain type of question. You WILL want to study the free resources provided by the FAA. You would also do well to view many of the very good videos on YT pertaining to airspace, sectional charts and so forth. Having said that, this book is a great start and will give you a lot of what you need for a reasonable price. Take this book and expand on it by viewing some videos about the topics within and you should pass pretty easily. Add the FAA provided materials and you'll likely pass with flying colors. This is what I did and I got a 95%.The five tests you're eligible to take, via an account creation with the publisher, are pretty good. They only provide a modest fraction of the potential number of questions you may encounter, but again, it's a really good resource and helps solidify the material in the text.I would recommend this book.

Save some money! Become a pilot!
Primarily used just this book to pass the Part 107 exam. It is pretty thorough and I found using the 5 practice exams after you've gone through the book is really helpful! I am a cheapskate and didn't wanna spend $150-$300 doing an online course (on top of the $150 you pay just to take the test). This probably required a little more effort but I was motivated to learn. I supplemented this with some YouTube videos about specific topics (sectional charts, METARS, etc) that I didn't grasp immediately from the reading. Basically anything I struggled to grasp just from the book I found a short video and that almost always cleared it up for me. I actually didn't do a super thorough review of the last few chapters but still managed to pass the test with 85%. Not great but good enough. If I'd gone back through the book a second time for a thorough review I probably would have scored well above 90%. Also, this book makes a nice reference to have on hand for the future. If you're looking to save some money and are self-motivated to learn this book is sufficient to give you the knowledge you need to become a remote pilot in command!

Well Done! Book is a must for those seeking Part 107 Cert!
The book is very well organized and comprehensive. There are usually one to three pages on a specific subject area followed by the appropriate test questions. Each test question is followed by an explanation as to why the wrong answers are incorrect. So not only do you understand why the correct answer is the right answer, you understand why the other options are incorrect thereby giving a double re-enforcement during the learning process. Each book has a code that you can use to go online and take 5 practice tests for free. Use them all. Granted, I currently hold a Part 61 certificate, but I went online and completed the FAA's Knowledge test and only got one wrong. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get their part 107 certification. I only wish the FAA's procedure was as streamlined as this book is.

This was my only study material, and I passed with 85% =D
I bought this book exactly a month ago to study for the Part 107 Test. This was my only study material along with few youtube videos to explain/practice more on METAR, airspace also understanding the markings on the Sectional Charts. This book can be very dry and wording can be slightly confusing. Maybe it's to prep you for the test questions. The book includes 5 prep tests online which I did all of them with a passing grade. So after 3 weeks of studying, I took the test today and passed with an 85% score. The questions were worded differently from the book and the prep tests. So ensure you have the most current study guide. I believe the 2018 edition just came out as I am writing this. This is not a very visual book and was printed black and white straightly to be cost effective, which I think was the downfall of it. There is one section that covers airport signs and airport markings. I end up looking for the exact images online and "color" it in my study guide. Not a good move for sure.Another big chunk of information that I needed help was reading the Sectional Chart, which was essential to the test. The Legend for the chart is printed in the book and you can always refer to it, but it gives out very little info if you have no clue what they mean. I did find a website that pretty much covered all the markings in the Sectional Chart with layman's term and understanding.Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to individuals that are disciplined and self-motivated. It requires you to set aside time to concentrate, read and digest all that information. To be honest - my back up plan was if I fail the test on my first try, I was going to enroll myself in one of the online courses. Looks like I will be all set until 2019! Good luck!!!

Must Have For Taking The Part 107 Exam !
I recently took the Part 107 Exam and passed - but barely. The online course that I used had good content and I spent a considerable amount of time studying. Unfortunately their practice exams were considerably off the mark and hence I barely passed. Then I received this book. Much to my delight questions similar to the ones on the actual exam are in this book. The questions are at the end of subject matter (weather, sectional charts, etc). This is an excellent idea as you just don't memorize answers but truly learn the material. The appendix contains charts referred to in the questions along with the legend that tells you how to read the charts. This will be one of go to books not only when I have to take the test in two years but as a good way to gain a better knowledge of drones and flying them safely. Cannot recommend this book enough !
