My bathroom sink was stopped up completely. I had 4 different sized snakes and none would go more than a foot into the drain. liquid plumber wouldn't work. A plumber would cost me $300.00 or more, so since I had been a maintenance mechanic in my younger years I started tearing things apart. I opened the wall to see why I couldn't get the snake to go into the drain tube. I determined to get to the plug I would have to cut the 1 1/4 copper tube and connect it back to PVC so I could put new drain tube back to the sink. This would have to be with a PVC fitting because I didn't want to sweat the copper with a torch inside my wall as it had originally been put together with the old metal tubing used in the 60's. This connector was the perfect fit. It went over the cut copper and the smaller PVC drain tubing. A struggle to get the gasket over the copper but I managed to heat the gasket enough to get it to stretch just slightly. It doesn't leak at all and if it gets clogged again I have a port to get into the copper tubing without burning the house down trying to sweat the copper tubing if I could even find a copper fitting I could afford. It was a relatively easy fix for the $3.00 I had to spend on the connector. This unit was a real blessing.
