Incredibly interesting
This is an extremely interesting book that kept me turning the page. I brought the hardback and it looks really nice on my shelf.

interesting book and time
I waited a while to read the Anglo Saxon Chronicles as I cannot read old English but in to days English. Shows the time line of the start of the English People to 1189 AD approx.

A must for English Folk
It is what it says, words from another time by one of our Greated Warrior Kings.

Disappointing
Really quite appalling translation and full of typos. There are no indications of which of the chronicles are being quoted let alone notes describing differences between versions for specific events. The Brunanburh Poem for the year 937 in particular is dreadful, being reduced to a rather dull single paragraph about somewhere called “Brumby”.Don’t waste your money - buy a proper translation.
