Hasegawa 1:48 Scale J35F/J Draken Model Kit

The Draken has been my favorite plane since I was a kid and this kit was a lot of fun to build. Hasegawa kits are always quality builds and this was no different. The decals were a tad thick so setting solution is recommended.

This is the first kit from Hasegawa I build and I am surprised at the level or detail and the precision of the molds. The amount of excess plastic and improper fit is reduced to a minimum. In my opinion, the quality is higher than a Tamiya. Also, the packaging of the product was great. It came inside a big box with packing peanuts. The box was not even scratched.

In 1/48 the J35 Draken makes an impressive model out of the box. The upper and lower fuselage halves come together seemelesly. The cockpit is fair and as always there are resin replacements available but this is an OOB build. No pilot so this only gets a 4 but all the molds and no flash look great. Since no combat was seen by the Draken they aged well and retired in the late 1990s from the Swiss AF after many years of service. This one has four sidewinder missiles under the wings from the spare box and this was a later refinement of the J model. Always like to have a pilot for scale but this is one that will due without at this time.

Been working with this aircraft in real world , bring memory back seance that time . Built one of this model of J-35 Draken in the -70s that I gave away.
