EVO Gimbals Action Camera Adapter Plate for GoPro with Smartphone Gimbal - Compatible with GoPro Hero3 Hero3 Hero4 Hero5 Hero6 Hero7 Black, Garmin Virb Ultra 30 and Yi Cameras

Fits well with the EVO Shift Gimbal. Able to balance the gimbal with my Hero 3+ mounted using the gimbal extension adjustment. Balancing the GoPro using the extension adjustment does restrict the operating range of the gimbal due to the length of the adapter. As mentioned in another review, this requires holding the gimbal at a 45 degree angle to get the full range of motion. Not a frequent need but still a slight compromise. Adapter length is driven by the size of the counter weight. Finish and fit are excellent and one nice bonus feature of the adapter is the 1/4-20 threaded hole to mount the adapter and GoPro camera on a tripod. Keep in mind this adapter works with the naked GoPro only. It is not compatible with any of the waterproof or skeleton cases. Adapter does not block the USB or HDMI ports so it is compatible with using an external microphone. You can also remove the micro SDHC card with the GoPro 3+ camera mounted in the adapter. Retention bracket does partially cover the WiFi lights on the front of the GoPro 3+ camera. Not an issue as these lights are very bright. All in all a good value accessory to allow you to use a gimbal witha mounted GoPro.

Well made for the price. One of the mounting holes wasn't finished correctly so it wouldn't work out of the box. It was a minor issue for me as I put on a drill press and fixed it. If I had just purchased it and taken off on a trip I would have been disappointed.People who buy this for their GoPro will likely want to get out side and film "cool stuff" Keep in mind that the attachment screws are very small, non-standard and easily lost. Buying some zip ties and wire clippers for easy changeouts will probably be your quickest and easily attainable backup plan.Geek/maker solution: put 3d printer files on your website with the plastic retainer piece. Use the size screw you find on the top and bottom of any electrical outlet you've ever replaced. They can be found at any hardware store when you are traveling. I purchased this for use with a Gopro7 black and a Smooth-Q gimbal. It works well enough, but had to make a few adjustments. For example, if you have it facing forward like in the picture on the package, you’ll see part of the gimbal arm in the shot (even in linear mode). Also, the balance is off with this product and the camera side hangs down slightly. Both can be fixed by using this product upside down and sliding the camera as far towards the center as it will go. The logo will be upside down, so it looks kinda stupid, but it works.Also, the weighted side is too thick to fit into the cellphone-size groove in the holder. Not a huge deal, but it does make it stick out a little more on the camera side, again throwing off the balance.I’m a little disappointed with this product, but I got it working well enough to avoid returning it. You might want to look for a better designed one though.

I love my Evo gimbal, however, I don't love using it with my phone. My phone is huge and relatively heavy, plus, I get phone calls, emails and a zillion other notifications. I know, I could put my phone in airplane mode or purchase another phone, etc. Frankly, if I want a really high quality video, that is exactly what I'd do. That said, in general, I just want a good video so, I purchased an inexpensive action camera. The problem with that idea was the Evo gimbal was not balanced properly, plus the view finder screen was completely covered. Then, I discovered this little adapter. It works perfectly! Problem solve!! Thank you Evo.

I know this is not made for GoPro hero5 black, but with a few cable ties & using the black bracket with one screw at the bottom it works for me. I've used it for two days without any problems with my DJI OSMO Mobile using the GoPro app on my iPhone 7 plus. This is just a temporary option I made for myself with this Adaptor until one comes out that is the correct adaptor made for the GoPro Hero 5 Black and then I'll buy it, but until then I'm happy that I can use my GoPro Hero 5 Black right now with my new DJI OSMO Mobile that I got.

I know this is for the hero3-4 Black. I recently bought a Hero 5 Black. Seeing that a lot of the cases for the older model still fit the Hero5, i bought this hoping that it does. Unfortunately, the 5 black is a slightly too large for the bracket. I quickly improvised and sip tie the two together. Works for the most part except now I have a zip tie in front of my LCD. The edges where the LCD comes through a little rough. You can hear it scrapping against the camera. A small foam padding around the opening should do the trick.

I'm happy withe the gimbal its self works well for smaller phones in the 4 in size. However we uprgaded phones to xl sixes and the unit is just too bulky. Purchased the gro pro adapter and while the fit and finish is excelent the ergonomics is poor. It too large and bulky for a on body helment mount. I should have looked at additional reviews for my intended application. Hand held use would be just fine for occasional use.

Works great with my Yi action camera and DJI Osmo Mobile gimbal.The machining on the retaining bracket was not as finished as I would have liked and it scratched up the front of my camera. To prevent further damage, I wrapped some gaffers tape over the post.

J'ai trouvé compliqué a utiliser, Facile a balancé, mais le système d'attache n'est pas rapide. Le concept d'efficacité d'utilisation perd son nom, la caméra ne peut pas être installer rapidement. En conclusion une fois en place et le support "renversé" l'objectif est atteint.
