Shadows of Brimstone: Dark Stone Hydra XL Enemy Pack

This is a great enemy for the game was just as described.

A great model, and one of the few (as of 12/16) XL models that has all levels of threat cards. Running into this guy as a Low Threat encounter is no joke!

The Dark Stone Hydra is a good expansion to have for either of the Shadows of Brimstone core sets. The model comes in 10 parts (11 including the 60mm base) and is very easy to assemble. In addition to the model and base, the pack includes one large enemy card, an assembly instruction sheet, and 6 Threat cards (2 Low/2 Med/2 Hi/0 Epic).One of the things I like most about this pack is that the enemy can appear at all difficulty levels. The hydra's maximum health is based on the number of heroes in the posse and its combat score is based on health, so the difficulty actually scales with party size rather than threat level. (A Low Threat Hydra and a High Threat Hydra are identical to a posse of 4 members).What I didn't care for was the lack of content for the price. And its a minor gripe, but Flying Frog could have come up with a half dozen more cards (Maybe a clutch of hydra eggs Encounter card, a hydra related artifact, etc.). A little something to add some flavor lettting you know the danger is there, even if you never actually encounter the creature.Overall, the Dark Stone Hydra XL Enemy Pack is a good expansion for Shadows of Brimstone whether you're tackling the mines with a full party or you're going at it alone with a single gunslinger.

The best game to come along in years. Love the Dark Stone Hydra. An excellent addition to our foes.
