Blazer Trekking Poles - #roweoutdoors*Disclaimer – I received this product at a discounted price or for free in exchange for an honest review”I had seen, but never used, trekking poles so I decided to try Blazer’s adjustable trekking poles as my first foray. The pair of trekking poles comes with a set of snow baskets, mud baskets and loops with carabineers for attaching and carrying the poles when not in use. The poles themselves are black anodized aluminum with 2 external locking levers per pole to adjust for length and they have generous foam hand grips. There are also adjustable wrist straps with a slight amount of padding. My first use was for over an hour on packed dirt trails going up and down steep slopes and then finishing with some use in softer woodland trails that had less of a grade. The hand grips were very comfortable and didn’t make my hands sweat on what was a very warm day.Pros: Solid heft but not too heavy as to cause arm fatigue, high quality foam grips, very sturdy locking leversCons: Slight clunking noise when in use, the tension-ing system for the wrist strap makes for difficulty adjusting while moving and grips maybe too large for those with smaller hands. These are a rugged, sleek looking set of trekking poles I would recommend to anyone who wants to use them for day hiking.

You'll want these poles if your serious about balance....
Blazer Trekking Poles / Hiking Poles - Pair Pictures do not do these hiking poles the just it the justice deserves. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by these amazing Red Rock Mountains and to be able to hike in such beautiful terrain, but it can be dangerous and I have learned the hard way that the correct equipment it not just necessary it is unquestionably unquestionable to think the opposite. I don’t use just anything when it comes to protecting me from falls, injuries and safety.I did receive these trekking poles at a heavily discounted price in exchange for my opinion, but the seller has no influence over my opinion whatsoever, but there product does. The first time I used this I saw the immediate difference in the trekking poles I have used and have been using to hike. The durability is felt in the heaviness of this pole and the grip through the different terrain was amazing. I was able to push and pull myself up and away though difficult position and I know that that although I was testing the pole for an accurate review, it was the reason my balance remained and I didn’t receive any injury. This hiking pole has adjustable telescoping length and the locks hold very well. These poles are made with quality high grade aluminum and in tight spots where you need the comfort of knowing it will not unlock, bend or break is very important. The grip is great, the shaft is not flimsy and whether I was going uphill, downhill, leveling or traversing on Red Rock I felt safe and secure.

Great hiking poles
These hiking poles were put to the test during a recent 20+ mile trek while hiking both Whiteface and Esther peaks in New York's Adirondack mountains, and I have no complaints. They are lightweight, yet durable, and worked great!

Good construction!
Love these! Used them to hike many miles as soon as they were purchased. They held up well and were easy to adjust.

If you've gone backpacking or day hiking on a long and difficult terrain you've probably tripped, braced yourself from exhaustio
If you've gone backpacking or day hiking on a long and difficult terrain you've probably tripped, braced yourself from exhaustion or needed a boost to keep up with the rest of the nutso fast hikers. I was recently able to review some Blazer Trekking/Hiking poles by Rowe Outdoors. I'm still tired after our backpacking trip this past weekend and I'll share some of my thoughts to let you know whether they worked for me.The Looks:The hiking poles look above average for the price range that these poles come in. I like the sleek look of the grips and that it looks to be very easy to use and adjust while hiking. The loose rock/earth stabilizers come zip tied to each pole and need to be installed before use. The ends of the poles have a nice rubber feet that slip on and off to expose the Tungsten steel tips. The looks of it seem really sturdy. The Feels:Here's where it comes down to actually using the poles. First two things that I will let you know is 1. I have not hiked or backpacked in several years and I do not regularly work out. 2. I watched some online videos and read online sources on proper pole usages. AND BONUS 3. You really really need hiking poles if you are backpacking regardless of your age or if you are fit or unfit. The whole weekend trip consisted of one averagely out of shape person (me) and a 40 pound pack. The hike in with the 40 lb pack was a moderate 2 miles with heavy inclines, river crossings and loose soil so I had to routinely adjust the length and how I held the straps. The straps will need to be checked for sharp irritating "burrs". I luckily had a knife to trim away the burrs that started to rub into my hand.We decided later to hike a really strenuous 4 hour hike of approximately 9-10 miles long. There were steep inclines and declines, loose and rocky soil and plenty of exhaustion by the end on the murder hike back to the campsite. The problems along the way seemed to come from the clips tended to loosen even though I tightened them down a couple of times with my knife's screw driver attachment. Adjusting the poles was really simple and the measurement lines are perfect for keeping both poles at a synchronized height. I never fell with the poles and even when they did collapse it was very gradual and I never lost my balance.Pros • Lightweight • Short enough to clip to your pack • Durable • Tungsten steel tips never slid on wet or smooth rocks • Adjustments are extremely easy • Measurement marks are great for keeping the poles at the same height • Extremely comfortable and ergonomic designed loops for the handlesCons • Tends to collapse if you do not tighten down the fastener • Even after tightening down they tended to loosen after a while after constant vibrations from use • Declines tended to have the most issues with collapsing • Handle loops had "burrs" that needed to be cut or sanded downSummary:This product got a ton of use and an extremely good use of different terrains and the poles were totally worth it. I should have had poles back when I was in my younger 20's. They really make a difference taking the load off of your legs especially if you are carrying a heavy pack.We had 7 guys that went hiking and all of them did not have poles but they did cut some walking sticks by the end ;)Even with the cons I think these poles can be adjusted and corrected and be a really great if not essential piece of your trekking/hiking gear. I think Rowe Outdoors has some room for improvement but I think this product is really really good for the price. Cheers!
