Best audio quality of 4 I have tried
Disclaimer: I have SUPER sensitive ears, both when it comes to loud noise and having anything in them. If I'm in an environment that is too loud, my ears buzz like a blown out speaker and physically hurt - so I couldn't go to any concerts or big sporting events. Even dance clubs and bars were risky. I also cannot stand earbuds, they are physically painful to me immediately upon putting them in my ears. I can only use on ear headphones even for hands free (yes I look ridiculous). So when I talk about comfort, I'm speaking from that perspective. I'm evaluating these earplugs based on using them at concerts/music festivals, where I still want to be able to hear. Loop Experience Pro Earplugs $40 I use these with the extra mute rubber on the loop. These provide the best sound. It sounds like someone just turned down the volume rather than muffling it, but still muted enough for my super sensitive ears. Tip: if you don't mind looking a little bit dorky, try pointing the circle (loop) forward/in the direction you are looking, rather than tucked in your ear pointing towards your back side. I found the audio quality to be slightly better this way. I/My ears cannot tolerate earbud headphones, so the fact I can tolerate these at all is a testament to how comfortable they are. But with my sensitive ears I've found I can't quite wear these for a full concert - so I save these for the bands/songs I care about hearing the most clearly. I use the SureFire for everything else. But if you ears are ok with any type of Earbuds headphones, I'd recommend just these alone. SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders $15 Best comfort, but some of the higher tones get lost. Has a cap for the earplugs tube you can have open or shut to allow more or less sound. I tend to use these (with the cap closed) for most concerts until the band I came for starts playing, then I switch to the Loop for the better audio quality. If for some reason I was forced to choose to only use one set of earplugs, I would choose these. But also my ears are SUPER sensitive about anything being in them even in the slightest, it causes me physical pain. If you can tolerate any type of earbud headphones, I'd recommend the Loop Experience Pro Earplugs. Eargasm High Fidelity Earplugs $50 Didn't work for me, I couldn't get them in a proper position to seal and Stay sealed. They kept loosening and popping out (not enough to lose them but enough to lose all of the noise reducing effect). I don't use these at all. EARasers Noise Cancelling Earplugs $45 Most low profile, worked ok but not great, less comfortable than SureFire or Loop. I don't use these at all. Loop are cheaper and better.

Chronic ear drainage and yappy dogs, no problem!
These are great! I really didn't think I would be able to wear these because my ears are constantly swelling and draining from infections and allergies. Every other earplugs I've used has been painful to keep in my ear for long and ends up yucky from drainage. To my amazement, these little guys do not cause pain or irritate my ears. I've worn them almost all the time for about a week to make sure before reviewing. I even wore them overnight and no ear pain! They are easy to clean too. I have found that I can push them in all the way for more silence, or leave them just partially in and the ring part still holds them in place, which makes it more adaptable to how much I want to quiet my environment. I like having the pro version because of the little piece that can be attached in the ring to quiet noise even more, and the ability to switch back and forth from the regular earpiece to the foam earpiece that quiets everything in a different way. I live in a house with 6 pomeranians and someone hard of hearing that blasts the TV. The sudden sharp noises have really been driving up my anxiety and noise sensitivity. These earplugs are great because I can sit a room away from the noise and watch quiet anime and still hear what's going on in my show! I keep the earplugs in any time I walk through the house and the pomeranians no longer sound like squealing balls of grating metal, instead they just sound like little fuzzy doggies! Yay! When I wear them outside, I can't hear the sound of the wind, but I can hear the birds. When they are in I also hear a bit of inner head noise that sounds a bit like being underwater which is very soothing to me, but if I pull them partially out and let the ring hold them in that position there is no more inner head noise and the pomeranians are still at an acceptable noise level. I like the cute little case too!

Amazing concert earplugs
I wore these for the first time at the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert and they completely cancelled out the crowd so I only heard Taylor's voice. I was on the floor and I couldn't even hear the person next to me singing. I did use the extra loop mute pieces as the concert was very loud. I also liked that there are different size ear pieces as I have small ears and most earplugs start to hurt my ears after an hour of wearing them, but these didn't hurt at all and the concert was 5 hours long. I also did not have any ringing in my ears the next day thanks to these. I'd say the only downside is it does such a good job of cancelling people's voices that you either had to scream in my ear or I had to take one earplug out to hear my friend talking to me. Which is great during the concert but if you wear these to a music festival where you'll need to be coordinating with your group throughout the day you may want to get a string to attach to them so when you take them out you don't accidentally lose them. I did not test how the sound was if I didn't use the muted pieces and maybe it would allow you to at least hear a bit of what the person next to you is saying which if a concert isn't too loud you probably could skip the extra muted part but I can't attest to that. The case was nice, small, and sturdy and I suggest keeping the extra muted pieces in the case and then figuring out if you need the extra muting when you get to the concert. I have never used any other concert earplugs so I cannot say how they compare to other brands but I was very happy I bought these and will definitely be wearing these to all the concerts I attend in the future.

These earbuds are perfect at filtering unwanted background noise. For the naysayers: these earbuds are not meant for sleeping. What they do is, reduce/filter sounds that are often overwhelming and distracting. I am able to have a nice conversation with someone sitting close to me without hearing the many different background noises.

Review for Loop Experience Plus Earplugs. I have been using a different pair of earplugs for a while now - Etymotic ETY Plugs ER20 High Fidelity Earplugs. Just recently decided to try out these Loop Experience Plus Earplugs after getting them during the EOFY sales. Appearance wise, Loop looks better and doesn't protrude from the ear which was one of the things I disliked about my Etymotic ones. Wearing Loop just requires a twist to align it correctly into the ear, it's very snug and I wore them for ~6 hours without it coming loose or needing much adjustment. In terms of fit and comfort Loop were better, with extra eartips of various sizes that made it easy to find a good fit. By comparison my Etymotic earplugs were one size fits all and not quite as comfortable as they went deeper into the ear and would also slip out more easily. For noise cancellation, I experienced more noise reduction with the Etymotic earplugs when fully inserted compared to the Loop earplugs with the mute piece in. That said, the overall balance of the noise reduction sounded better with the Loop earplugs, like I could still hear everything fairly clearly, just with a reduced volume. The Etymotic earplugs on the other hand felt like they dampened a lot more of the sound across all ranges, to the extent that things ended up sounding a bit muffled - though that may actually be preferable in some circumstances. Overall, I think the Loop earplugs are a good product especially if you can get them on sale. If you're budget conscious or worried about loud noise (or plan to dance all day in front of a festival loudspeaker), though, then I think there are still good alternatives out there.

I've been sensitive to loud and high-pitched sounds since I was little and recently developed tinnitus in one ear so I decided to invest in better quality earplugs to protect my ears. These are discreet enough to not catch attention (could be mistaken as wireless earphones so they don't make me feel self-conscious compared to the cheap brightly colored foam 100 yen earplugs that I used prior) and come with a compact storage case (I attached a phone strap for easy access in my bag). The first time I wore these outside, I was waiting at a tram stop and the sound of high-pitched car/tram brakes (which would always cause me visible distress in the form of me wincing in pain while covering my ears which would at times catch people's attention as they look at me with confusion/concern) did not cause me intense physical pain for the first time. I also remember how the sound of cars passing as the wheels rolled on the pavement sounded like gentle ocean waves which felt almost soothing... It felt like a moment of revelation - it made me wonder "wow, is this how people with 'normal' hearing perceives these sounds?" I am grateful for these earphones and wish the best of luck to others with hearing sensitivity on their journey to find ways to reduce auditory pain/distress.
