Seems like a good home-use choice
This inexpensive print/copy/scan printer is for our low-volume home use, replacing a similar-level HP printer. The HP has been very frustrating, performing extremely sluggishly, and in one in every three attempted prints it has to be unplugged/replugged to restart it and reconnect with the home wifi network. The Brother installs easily in less than an hour to unbox, set up, fully connect, download/update all the software, and create an account and register. It is not fast (a typical color page might take seconds), but it starts printing promptly, the quality is good, and it has not dropped connection. It is immediately visible and usable by the Windows and Android devices on our home network. The plastic tray and page catcher are flimsy, but this seems to be the norm these days. The control buttons and the accompanying software are simple and clear. The ink cartridges claim to last a long time - and for our volume of printing does not warrant the automatic ink replenishment service that we found so unnecessarily expensive with the HP machine. The Brother has no two-sided printing, but for us this is rarely an issue. So at this point it looks like a good, simple, cost-effective choice for us, if it proves reliable over time.

Must Have
This printer does not take up a lot of space on top of your workstation. Set up was fast and easy. Print quality is exceptional. I highly recommend this printer if you are looking for a machine that doesn't take up a lot of space, that is easy to operate, and produces excellent print quality.

Only Starter Cartridges and A Scam on Setting Up But Works now
*BEWARE OF SCAM*. The printer works fine. Set up turned out to be easy but when I followed the directions included in the box and attempted to download the driver for my mobile device I got an error message that said there was an error- do not try to install again or it would void warranty and to call. When I called they had to call back but I finally called and they said the error was in my network and they would have a network tech help me but there would be a small fee. I said no. I then went to the Brother site, found support for this model and was directed to go to the App Store and download the Brother Mobile Connect. It walked me through and works fine.ILY other problem is that it says there in the description that there is a years supply of ink but actually only starter cartridges. I’ll call Brother on Monday about this

Dubious
I was worried about the software not being designed for the printer. The software that is downloaded to pc says to press the wireless button, but there isn't any wireless button. I searched on google for the wireless button for that model and google suggests there isn't one. The cell app similarly says I must press the wireless button, but there isn't any button that says wireless on the printer.Youtube says to download the app, and press the 'stop' button so the printer shows on the cell app. But the cell app finds out what my printer model is, and won't let me proceed unless I press the wireless button. The app forces me to lie about pressing the wireless button to proceed.I was later able to find the wireless button. The wireless icon on the button was the same color as the button, and was quite difficult to see. The software then worked.Under a month after purchase, my wireless router randomly switched the passwords, disconnecting all my gadgets, and costing my many hours on tech support resetting everything, likely for the 3rd instance of my AT&T router resetting all the passwords and costing me many hours on tech support with other organizations whos gadgets no longer worked. My Brother printer stopped working because the AT&T router was entitled to switch the passwords about to mysterious passwords. I could not reset the wireless information on the brother printer using any guides on google or in other searches. When I tried to contact Brother, the brother-usa.com website didn't actually have any way to reach anyone. The contact us button confirmed that there was chat and phone, but no buttons were obvious that were the actual chat or phone.Google listed a mysterious phone number.Position in Que: 25Estimated Wait Time: 19 minutes------------On 2-5-23 I located a file associated with a Brother printer I bought on Amazon, and was able to erase part of the file, and this allowed my wireless internet to work decently for the first time since a 7pm 2-3-23 crash of my internet that I reported to IC3.But, the Brother files keep re-appearing, and are associated with wireless traffic that I cannot control.I had returned the Brother printer quickly, a few days ago, after I noted that their customer service was not available, and after the printer could not sync with my wireless in numerous days of attempts."Software update notification" was impossible to uninstall despite returning the printer. It was associated with a cantonese or japanese script error message during a force deletion of some of the files in the folder. My google maps suddenly started working, slightly, at more locations, with the Brother file partially removed. But on 2-5-23 a 4:15 pm, I was again not 'allowed' to use internet, a common effect for me as a disabled person, where in I am targeted first in cyber crimes for being disabled. I was able to force close Steam, and the wireless was working again. But at 7:00 pm on the 5th, the wireless was again not working, with no access to websites, or IC3, and I was able to get it working by erasing another Brother file, in programfiles(x86)/Browny02. Again, I was not allowed to erase the file completely. But, deleting the componants that I was allowed to delete did then mean I was allowed to use the internet despite being disabled.

Good all around home printer
No problems with this unit. Sets up easily and prints wirelessly very quickly. Print quality is good. I purchased the unit since I’ve read great reviews about it elsewhere. I’ve only had it a few weeks however.

Pain to set up
Printer prints great. Though the black ink cartridge isnt out of ink but says its out as well as the printer wont add to the Brother connect app no matter how much i try. Its connected to the same internet as my device im using to set it up and it wont add to the app. Its really dissappointing. The printer cost me alot of money and it did not measure up to my expectations. Where I live converted to my currency this cost me $366. Pain to set up.

Love this printer so far.
This is hands down the nicest multifunction printer I've ever owned. Set up directions were really easy to follow and relatively quick, I had no issues hooking it up to my wireless network and was able to use it right away. The print quality is nice, though I haven't tried printing any kind of pictures yet. It has a good warranty and was easy to register. The only complaint I had was the description said it came with a years worth of ink in the box and it didn't in my opinion, though I guess it depends on how much you print after installing the cartridges it says there is enough ink for 700 pages. I could just print more then the average person does at home.
