Sovtek5881WXT power vacuum tube, Platinum Matched Pair

I bought two of these tubes to replace the Chinese tubes that came in my VHT Special 6 Ultra. The sound is sweeter with more clarity. I gave it a few hours of playing over the course of several days to get a real feel for the differences in sound. Specifically, the WA tubes are somewhat bright. I wanted preamp tubes that would let my instrument's sound come through without much coloration. Both my tubes have been in now for about 12 hours of playing and are holding up perfectly. I was a little surprised at the quality of the Chinese tubes. The stock tubes lasted through around 50 hours of various styles of playing without failure. If you're on a tight budget and need to know if you've just HAVE to replace the Chinese stock tubes, I'd recommend keeping them until they go out on you. However, if you are in the same boat as me, and wanted a little higher quality sound from your VHT amp, these are great tubes. As a side note, preamp tubes can be mixed and matched without trouble. Power tubes (el34/84 or 6V6/6L6 tubes) need to be matched and biased.

Bought tubes for use in a Mic pre-amp, to replace O.E. tube. Price was good. replaced the burned out OE tube. The ART Mic Preamp works fine now. Had used another brand tube in the interim, butit didn't work. Would buy these again.

I love these Sovtek tubes. I have a very interesting 2 10 Fender amp. The cab is half of a flood damaged Super Reverb and the chassis is a highly modded Bassman Ten and 2 10 inch Eminence Legends and biased at 42.7V. JJ's and Ruby's makes it sound shrill and Groove Tubes are junk. These Sovteks make the amp sound full bodied and tempered. A slight growl can be heard when cranking it up like a Bassman should.

The Sovtek 12AX7WA came stock in my new Hartke LH1000 bass amp. Even after several hours of break-in it had a lot of crackle and hiss. I Almost sent the amp back but I knew the crackle sound came from the tube. Swapped it out for a Svetlana 12AX7 purchased here on Amazon. Much less noise. Zero crackle. Fairly warm sound. I'm much happier with the new tube and the amp.

I bought these to swap out the stock tubes in the ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp.in comparison tests on a neo 2488 (in 24 bit recording mode) using a new mxl 67g, the stock tube was precisely the same on vocals.I did not test on anything else. So in my humble opinion, these tubes provide no more "warmth" or "presence"for the mxl 67g using the ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp than the stock chinese tubes that it comes with. The upsideis that i have back up tubes if i ever need them. I didnt expect miracles. the ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp is a $30preamp. But i have to admit i expected some noteable difference. Even slight. But there was none.

This tube was standard in a bass amp I bought,and the amp sound is excellent.The tube wore out so I replaced that one and bought a spare.Has a nice round low end,highs not harsh at all,and no distortion.Excellent for bass amps.

Been using 3 in my Fender Blues Junior 15 watt practice amp for a month.Just ordered 6 more.In case the Russian / Ukrainian thing makes 'em hard to get.That's how much I like 'em, and for the price ?????No Brain-er.
