Simple, fast, easy, reliable, sharp, durable, good value for such convenience.
I've been using these in Rali planes for over a decade.SO convenient! No sharpening needed. Super fast replacement in the field or shop. They fit inside the handles of Rali planes, so they are always at hand. Two sided, so you can just flip them over for a new sharp edge.Yes, it is possible to resharpen them, but that's a little tricky because they are small. Depending or your budget or penurious proclivities, you may want to resharpen them or just replace as needed.Super durable. Made of high quality steel. Stay sharp even in tough woods like those used in electric guitars: Ash, mahogany, Maple. Their keen edges also cleanly cut softer woods like poplar and Alder. They leave a glass smooth surface and distinctive "shine" on end-grain that proves they are razor sharp.I still love my Lie-Nielsen, Veritas, E.C.E, Hock and venerable old Stanley planes. I use my Japanese and homemade planes regularly too. Yet increasingly, I find Rali planes with these superb blades to be my "go-to" solution for most tasks.I reserve the fancy planes for special joinery jobs or tricky grained woods.Rali planes, with these remarkable blades, are the easiest safest choice when checking lumber, or cleaning old wood for re-use. They are also just fine for most normal hand-planning jobs like truing timber, leveling surfaces dead-flat, shaping edges and corners or even sharpening pencils! You won't cry if you hit a staple or nail. You won’t cringe when a novice borrows your plane or suffer if she drops it onto the concrete floor. Even if one edge is damaged, you can reverse the blade and get back to work, literally, in ten seconds.About the only thing Rali planes don’t do well is edge jointing with a shooting board. Yes, you can make them work for that too, but you must consider the protruding screws that hold some models together when making the shooting board, You can’t touch the super-sensitive adjustment lever when shooting edges. It’s VERY easy to move so if you want to use a shooting board with Rali planes, you have to hold the plane accordingly.Although I have an extensive arsenal of hand planes by all the major brands plus many homemade planes with Hock blades, I LOVE Rali planes for their convenience and worry-free operation. These blades are crucial to their amazing performance and they've never let me down.

blades dull quickly
blades became dull very quickly. Plane and blades worked well while sharp, but expensive to use. can they be resharpend?

Good for rough projects and construction!
I use the Rali planes for construction projects and for things where I don't want to use my good planes. Since they are disposable and cheap, they are great for OSB, particle board, and framing. I sharpen these and get lots more use from them.

Too expensive
Blades are good and quick to change out but just too expensive. I will be throwing my Rali 220 away, there is no point in keeping it around since the blades are simply unaffordable.

great value
If you own a rail plane, then you already know what a great product this is. Razorblades instead of big pieces of metal make keeping blades sharp a snap.

replacement blades
These blades are like the originals. Both edges of the blade are very sharp and easy to replace quickly. I like the idea of not having to stop in the middle of a project to sharpen my plane.
