Who sing is really nice If you have to use a manual swager sometimes it's just necessary and this is the one to have You can tap it right into place you can control it with just tapping it right in You don't have to go very hard very fast You just slip right in I have found that if you put a little bit of vacuum oil on it it slides a little better and doesn't tug at all on the copper but other than that it's absolutely perfect I wish it was self lubricating but hey what do you expect for all solid metal. ;-)

Good for what it is

This tool is basically a metal cylinder turned to different diameters with a smooth transition between each of them. On the one i received, as you can see from the picture, two of the adjacent sections are not concentric for some reason, which results in a strangely uneven transition between those two sections. This doesn't affect the tool's usability, at least not for my use case, but it does imply that this was not built to be a precision tool. Also, after only light hammering and a single use, the end is exhibiting slight mushrooming, so it's clear that the metal is pretty soft. You'll want to use a hard rubber or wooden mallet or similar instead of a metal hammer when using this tool, or you will gradually degrade it. I knocked off a star because of the issues described above, but at the end of the day, it did work. If you need a cheap tool for a oneoff job, grab this one. If you are going to be swaging hoses 8 hours a day for work, spend a little more and buy a nicer one.

It works well on items that are smaller. I wonder if the same concept would work as well on larger diameters, such as 3/4" and 1"
