Great Filter! Indoor Pool in the Midwest
I had no issues with this unit! Directions are okay, but a couple quick things to help speed up your process... Connections for Inlet, Outlet, Waste are all the same. I ended up going with the internal thread on the multiport valve which is a standard 1-1/2" Male Adapter. The outer male thread I'm not sure what size it was, seemed to be 2-1/2" standard pvc thread which is not a common size for big box stores. There is a cone sent with the unit, use this to keep the internal assembly centered and the down pipe covered when filling with sand, versus the old tape and pray method. You'll have to uninstall a thumb screw plug on the multiport valve to install your pressure gauge that is included. Finally, make sure the waste sight bulb is tight with your fingers prior to turning on, I saw some folks complaining about leaking and mine was just loose when received. Otherwise, installation was easy! I ended up filling mine with 150 lbs of Zeo Sand versus 300lbs of filter sand, which was a good choice.

New Pump and filter makes life easier.
Was time for an upgrade as our old system was 10 years old, what a difference anew filter and pump makes , I could not be happier. It b took o only a few hours to set up and it cleaned up my pool on opening day and we were in before dark.

2nd one, both junk
The media could not be loaded. 2nd sand filter I’ve bought from xtreme power us, and the last. First one leaked from the backwash slightly. I put a valve on it and it ran for a year before blowing out. I replaced it this year with this one and as you can see it’s pouring water out the backwash with no pressure. Haven’t started the pump. Just finished installation and filled the pool. Aside from the cost of the sand filter… don’t forget to factor in time shipping back and forth, and the 175 lbs. of filler sand (roughly $100)… don’t forget adapters to fit the filter to any preexisting hoses (inlet and outlet are different size from other model)… it’s a cheap pos, that will turn into an expensive pos.Update: after plugging the backwash side temporarily while I await a valve I ordered to be delivered, I test started it. Now it’s leaking out the eye. It wasn’t screwed all the way in and no o ring. I put an o ring in, teflon taped the threads and screwed or back in with enough flex seal to part the sea. After it dries I’ll update. Chances are I can rebuild the entire pump and fabricate my own parts before the company responds or puts out a decent product.Update: leaking eye sealed. Finally got to start the pump and a video was added. The handle isn’t sealing. Every single part on this unit has failed. If you’re thinking about purchasing this unit, instead… pay me half and I’ll punch you in the head and piss water all over your yard. Same effect, half the cost.

Nice little sand filter
I've had my filter for about a year now and haven't had any problems with it. This is my first sand filter so I had a little difficulty in the beginning figuring it out but it works well. Keep in mind you have to get a couple of 50 lb bags of sand after you get it. I try to keep the filter out of the Sun otherwise it gets fairly hot which adds to the heat in the pool. It's an above ground in Florida so anyway you can keep the heat out of the pool is a plus.
