The first one stopped working after second time I used it. Emailed the company and the sent me another one. This one works very well. I use it everyday. I would definitely recommend.

Update: it has stopped working well and will now take several attempts to spark enough to ignite. Ok yeah it works, but a little... Too well. Perhaps it's because we're used to an older one that was so gunked up we literally had to blow into the airholes on the side before lighting it, but this things flame has a low and HIGH setting with absolutely no in-between. Other than that it heats well and works perfect — no more need to blow on it!

This one works great.

I purchased this torch head to attach to my small propane bottle and it has made the perfect companion. I had a large, bulky torch head on my bottle and I had to store it on it's side since it was too top heavy to stand upright, so I needed to get a smaller head. The starter has not failed and I use it all the time, almost every day, several times a day and my bottle can now be stored upright with no tip over problems.

Unfortunately this torch attachment only worked well for the first day or or 2. It somehow gets plugged up somewhere on its own so that no gas comes out at all. Now I have to find a different one. Don't waste your $ on this one.

I’ve had several of the Benzomatic ones and the one constant issue is the ignitor always goes out and the last one I had I specifically didn’t use it much and it still went bad and occasionally did work but not what I’d say was dependable. And the last one had a tiny thin plastic knob that broke off and luckily I could still turn the metal rod but it ended up seizing up for no apparent reason and I couldn’t undo it without destroying it as obviously it’s brass. This one has a much larger metal wheel which is way better. I don’t know how well the starter/ignition will last but this is better than the model many sold recently.

When using to sweat copper w/ mapp gas, it worked fine w/ a higher flame. At low/medium flame, it consistently blips to a very low flame. I thought it would extinguish many times, but it stayed lit. Worked fine w/ a higher flame. But not a pointed (conical) flame as I like and am accustomed to. Lights well though. Good for the price.
