I absolutely love my Buluh straws! I've been drinking a lot of iced coffee lately and was starting to feel particularly wasteful due to how many plastic straws I was using. I originally thought of purchasing reusable plastic straws, but that seemed pointless - yes, they're "reusable", but everything has a shelf life and eventually they too would have ended up in a landfill. Then I stumbled across Buluh straws. I was a little skeptical at first, particularly because I was concerned that they would alter the taste of the drink. I took a chance and ordered them anyway, and I'm so glad I did! They are well-made and biodegradable, and come in a variety of sizes. Plus, they come with a carrying pouch and a cleaning brush that's small enough to fit into each one. Be sure to wash these prior to using (there's a bit of bamboo dust) and you should have no problems. 10/10! Thank you, Worthy Picks! :)

I recently decided to give up plastic straws. These are the first reusable straws I bought and I love them. They come in a cute pouch, set of 8, and with 1 cleaning brush. The instructions say to boil them in water for a deep clean so I did that before the first use. There is a slight lingering bamboo taste, but I think it adds a good flavor to most drinks, makes everything taste more natural! I haven't noticed a difference with juices or sodas but it makes drinking a milkshake a little harder since you can't suck up as easily. Also, if you bite your plastic straws it might take you a a few bites before you let that bad habit go. I do wish it brought more than one brush and maybe different sized brushes because I'd like to have one I can carry around with me and leave one at home. This one fits some straws perfectly but others are more difficult to clean since they're not all the same exact size. Overall, I definitely recommend and am so happy to be team #nostrawplease.

Buluh literally means bamboo. I would like to point out the pronunciation is “boo-loh” and not “boo-loo” (which means fur).The quality of these straws is good compared to other bamboo straws and I have searched a-plenty. The straw holes are consistent and wide enough for bubble tea drinkers.However, these cannot stay long in liquid as they will begin to expand or bend at an angle. I guess that means you’d have to drink quick.These are great in tropical, hot and humid countries mainly because the cleaning and drying requires sun – after washing and rinsing, place them on a dry cloth and lay them out under sun to dry, but do not bake them, just enough for uv rays to kill off germs and bacteria.In cold weather, any excess water makes them grow mold. If you’re worried about mold, keep them in a container with a bag of silica gel, after sun-drying. It’s not safe to put them in the dishwasher/dryer, most likely they’ll crack. If you want to keep them for long-term use, then follow the instructions.As with any wood, there may be an aftertaste if you’re not used to it. It just comes down to whether you prefer metallic taste from aluminium straws or a more natural one from bamboo.The packaging is a bit too open for my liking, would prefer a drawstring pouch. But there are plenty of artisan pouches on the market which can be purchased separately. Overall, a great investment though if you want something that lasts, safer to go with metal such as copper.

We love these straws! They vary in size, but are not overly large or small. They are firm and travel well in their nice package and the straw scrubber is an added bonus. Make sure you don't leave them sitting in liquids for too long. I would give them 5 stars but they do add a woody taste to your beverage, especially if it sits in there for a bit. It's not horrible, but definitely noticeable. Mostly we love not throwing plastic away!

Love these!I bought these (along with stainless steel straws) to use with my Ello glass  Ello Kella BPA-Free Glass Sipper with Straw, Teal, 20 oz.  since it comes with a plastic straw and I sometimes like to drink hot tea in it. This is a great replacement, I can use the hot without worrying about melted plastic and it fits well in that hole (it's a bit smaller in length but still comfortable to drink from).The stainless steel ones end up just sitting around, I realize I don't like the taste (which is one of the reasons why I went with glass water bottles to begin with) but the bamboo is very natural (in texture, like not cold metal against your teeth/mouth) and has no taste. Though a few of mine have been stained from using colored drinks, they don't seem to hold the flavor. I will be buying more, great product and the case and cleaning brush is a great bonus!

I like these for what they are, a way to avoid using plastic. However the sizes were off for us. Some just too short to use comfortably in tall mugs. Also most were too wide around which just felt uncomfortable in the mouth. The one straw that did like ended up cracking. I guess I used it too much.They are easy to clean though.

Wasn't sure how I was going to like these straw and was curious to see what they were like. First the package arrived earlier than I expected-score! When I opened the box, i found a neat pouch with the 8 straws in it-Score! I was happy to find that the straws came in a slightly different diameters-which i liked-Score! the only thing I learned is that i can't leave the straw in my water bottle. I keep a glass bottle in my car all the time, so when i am not driving, I take out the straw so it won't get soft and bend. These straws are an awesome alternative to plastic. When I read an article the other day about plastic water bottles, i decided to toss all the ones I had, but then i was drinking out of a plastic straw. The metal straws won't work in 99+ degree weather, so the bamboo is a perfect option! will order more for all my glass water bottles, i have them everywhere at home and at my office, but also will order as gifts for my family and friends, what a great find!
