Castle Chinchilla House - Small Animal Hideout for Chinchilla Guinea Pig Hedgehog, or Rat - Ventilated Wooden Hamster Habitat with Multiple Doors - Made from Natural Wood

I got this for my hedgehog because he started climbing on his houses so I figured he would like this and he loooooooooves it. Climbs up and down it every night. I left out the wooden dowels that are for the hay since obviously they don’t eat hay and just threw his bedding over the holes.

I’m so glad for the pictures in these reviews as it helped make my decision about the purchase, so I’m adding my own.My single girl (aggressive with others) is a large Guinea pig (14” long and almost 4lbs), and half of the things I buy for her are entirely too small. This is a perfect size! So much so, that I ordered the rectangular house and bridge connector (coming today) immediately after setting up the castle hay rack.This fits a 2x4 C&C cage (14” square grids) exactly at the length. The only thing I had to add were some adhesive Velcro dots on the top lining/roof because she was jumping off the top and skidding to the floor, so keep that in mind.As for the assembly: super easy. There were four or five screws in total that are easily tightened by hand with a Phillips screwdriver. The roof pops off and the dish is removable by itself to clean and you can fill the hay rack from there. The best part is that the assembly is a little customizable depending on which corner you decide to utilize. Just figure it all out before screwing everything down, and your gravy.The wood is also thick (maybe 1/4”), so it won’t degrade quickly, and can be cleaned with a stiff brush and towels/soap. You could even paint this wood easily, but keep in mind toxicity — it wouldn’t be wise on the corners especially. Maybe a wood burning project piece!

I purchased multiple pieces of the set. They all arrived early and in perfect condition. The quality is great, they are all easy to assemble, and our guinea pigs absolutely love them. This setup seems to provide much more space in their habitat and is very interactive.They do tend to try to chew on the wood, but that is discouraged if plenty of chew toys are provided.

Bought for my chin mochi as soon and I put it in her cage she went right over to it also came with a little blanket/bed piece and very easy to put together overall great purchase

Assembly was easy, size is great for two Guinea pigs, after two days they chewed through the columns… now that part is odd… I have the large homes also and those were better, one for each.

The cage for our guinea pigs came with a plastic "cave" area that covered 1/3 of the cage. They were in there frequently and at times we wouldn't even be able to see them. I was looking for something that could give them the privacy and security they needed, but also allowed us to still see them, and this seemed to be a good combo of both. I received it and somehow did not get the memo it needed to be fully-assembled lol. It was easy enough to assemble but still deflated the excitement of it a bit! There was one screw that wouldn't go in during the last stage of assembly, but since there was one close enough to it already, I didn't think it would affect the integrity of it. Just be aware that this could happen if the holes do not align. The little guys loved it from the start. They don't seem to like going up on top though yet and they push the ladder off rather than climb up it. I do wish there was a way to more securely attach the ladder. I was also hoping this would fit up to the corner of the cage but with the attachment pieces protruding, there is no way to do that.

This has been her favorite house. She loves poking her head through the circular holes and saying hello, and the little fabric bed is her snuggle buddy

This hideout works super well for my Holland lop. This is by far my favorite addition to my rabbits pen.

Quality pine wood, and construction. The house is large enough for an adult Guinea Pig to sleep in.
