Astro Pneumatic 1/4" Rivet Gun and Heavy Duty Hand Riveter Set

I bought 1 of these to use on pontoon boat refurbishing, it worked excellent even when using 1/4’’ SS rivets, which if you were to use a hand gun, you would need the strength of Hulk Hogan to install it, maybe all are not adjusted properly, maybe send it back for a replacement, but for me hundreds of rivets installed very easily with this tool

I really was surprised by the quality and operation of this rivet gun. I need to pull about 4000 1/8" rivets for a big job, and this thing works great. One pull of the trigger crimps and cuts the rivet. It's not very loud either.Highly recommend.

This air riveter made quick and easy work of assembling a 14 element yagi comprised of telescoping aluminum tubing. This made the work go very quickly.

Used this to rivet approximately 5000 1/8" rivets in aluminum. Not once did it not pull on the first attempt. Used in an industrial capacity and would highly recommend this. My only complaint would be the location of the name on the handle. It's right where your thumb grips the tool and it makes it a little uncomfortable. But that's a small issue and nothing a glove didn't fix. I wasn't expecting much considering the low price, I was blown away with how good it worked.

Did my headline catch your eye? Good, as that was my intention. This is a nice unit as it it well made, and performs nicely. I just about wore myself out pulling 3/16 aluminum rivets by hand, and decided I would not punish myself again like that. So I bought one of these and it did my most recent 3/16 pop rivet job with ease. Very happy with it. Why not a rating of 5 you ask? Well, when I received my unit i was sure that the manufacturer had left out 3 of the 5 nose pieces. That's the little part that has to be changed out depending upon what size rivet you are going to install. I was quite beside myself. Well, I finally realized after a good bit of time and effort, that the manufacturer has carefully hidden three of the nosepieces in the bottom of the unit in threaded holes just for that purpose. Unfortunately it is not intuitive at all to think to look underneath a tool for spare parts. I have been a mechanic and fabricator for decades, and I have never looked underneath a tool for spare parts. Never. Only spare tires for trucks are hidden underneath what you have bought. Now, this little product "feature" may well drive you crazy and waste your time, as the users manual doesn't mention this. In addition, there is a bag of parts that comes with the unit, including nice tools for the unit, a spare set of replacement jaws - and ONE nosepiece! Just where you would expect to see the four nose pieces (with the one already installed to make the five you were expecting). I finally figured this out on my own - after sending the supplier an urgent message, and drafting an initial product review. Curiously, while this is an issue with the product and its literature, Amazon refused to publish that review, somehow deciding that my observations were "feedback" rather than a product review. Hence my present review. Why not a five rating? Because the product itself and its literature are flawed, and can waste a lot of your time. I challenge the manufacturer to add a note to their literature and perhaps slip a little note in the parts bag as well.

Bought 3 of these now and each one has held up for 3+ years of constant use. Company is great too, they replaced the plastic cup for free once it cracked, can't recommend them highly enough.

Works quite well

Installing eTracks, fixing box truck frames or sidewalls, you name the job. This tool is something I wish I knew about before I had done some heavy duty riveting tasks in the past. All my use case scenarios involved riveting 1/4 inch rivets but if any one knows how much hand force you need for 1, imagine doing it 100 times in one sitting. It will exhaust the heck out of you. This takes the arm work out and with 2-3 trigger pulls, you are locking and loading rivets one after another. Did a box truck rear wall seal which had me under the box, in-between the axle and just enough space for a skinny 180 pound guy to stick one hand out and angle this tool with a few trigger squeezes about 20 times across the 8 foot wall. No other tool would have made this even realistically possible given the tight parameters and lack of leverage or space to manually do it. Works with my cheap $100 pancake compressor. Recharges after a couple trigger pulls but my compressor is old, noisy, and just hanging on for what it can still do. This is a must tool for any DIYer.

I started using this baby about 18 months ago and still use it. So far I;ve used it with 3/16" and 1/4" rivets (I believe 1/4" is the highest you can go on this) and it's worked flawlessly. Very powerful and very easy to use. I recommend pressing up against the the gun so that the tip is evenly flush with the surface you are riveting into and then pull the trigger. Sometimes you may have to release the trigger, allow about 3 seconds for it to regain air and pull trigger again. This is not a flaw as I've seen pneumatic rivet guns 3 times the price do this every now and then as well. If you are using 1/4" rivets set your psi to 130. Overall, great product!

It works great on the large 1/4" rivets, the only issue is the plastic push-on catch can, keeps getting knocked off.Should be a screw on holder then it would be 5 stars
