Clear, Evidence-Based, and Refreshingly Unbiased
The Science of Nutrition is exactly what I’ve been looking for—a fact-based, visually engaging guide that cuts through the noise of trendy diets and conflicting nutrition advice. It’s written in a way that’s both accessible and science-backed, which is a rare (and very welcome) combination these days. What I love most is how the book presents complex information in a clear, digestible format. It breaks down macronutrients, vitamins, metabolism, and food groups with stunning visuals and straightforward explanations. Even topics like gut health, sugar, and intermittent fasting are handled without sensationalism—just honest, research-driven insights. It’s not about pushing one “perfect” diet or demonizing specific foods. Instead, it gives you the tools to make informed, balanced choices based on your body’s needs and personal goals. I’ve already found myself making smarter grocery decisions and feeling less stressed about food in general.Whether you're new to nutrition or just tired of the diet culture rollercoaster, this book is a refreshing, empowering resource. A must-have for anyone who wants to truly understand what they're eating—and why it matters.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
I am a new cooker and lover of knowledge. I know the basics of nutrition such as the different types and calories per gram and things like that and I was curious to see if this would be like your typical college nutrition class book, but thought what the heck, I am getting into cooking its good to refresh and I might learn something new. I was amazed. I love the DK science of books because the graphics are so great and the authors make it feel like you aren't learning, and this book was no exception. It went into topics that I didn't even consider, and they were all super interesting. I highly recommend this book.Pros:-Very interesting-Great graphics-Book seems very durable-Thick pages-Easy to follow alongCons:-You won't want to put it down

Amazon can't be trusted to protect your purchases until they reach you.
The print and image quality are quite good.Haven't gotten into reading it yet. But it looks like I have. Most of the scuffs and scrapes don't show unless lit from the right angle, which is hard to photograph. But the dinged corners and deep scratch, from the other things the distribution center put in the box with it, show rather easily.

Easy to understand, full of information about how your body works (with nutrition)
My doctor recommended this book to me. It's all about how nutrition affects your body and mind, all the way down to the cellular level. I am a "visual learner", so the pictures are great! I can refer to the pictures while reading, making it so much easier to understand. There is a total of 224 pages, if you include the index.I took a picture of the Table of Contents, and a couple random pages, so you can see the topics included, and get a glimpse of the type of information it gives.I hope this book gets you on the road to a happier and healthier person.
