Makes beat sound every 5 sec.
Not reliable HDD. From the day I bought its making beat sound every 5sec even when HDD is not in use while connected to system. Wrote several email to WD, the tech team says its normal, while its not normal..it feels like HDD is almost dying and the sound is quite annoying and distracting.

Only been using it for at least a month, but no issues thus far! Then again, I have only been turning it on, to store or retrieve data, and keeping it disconnected from the power when not in use, to preserve its lifespan as much as I can.

This is a backup drive so usually there isn’t much work load on it but so far it works fine for the job.
