Very bright, long lasting charge, triple sealed.
The Orcatorch D170 is very bright, works in and out of the water (for a few minutes), long lasting batteries, durable construction. The only addition I have made to this Orcatorch D170 is add a boltsnap to the tail loop. I hook it to a D-ring on my BCD then to a bracelet on my wrist during use. The battery is swappable between dives so you don't have to plug in the torch and wait for a charge. Just open it up, swap to the extra battery, jump back into the water. Honestly, I have not had to swap the battery in a single day, but it's nice to know you can if doing back-to-back night dives or multiple cave dives. The construction is solid, it has been dropped and banged around on boats with the rest of my gear, but it barely has a scratch on it. The beam is sharp, but the edges are not harsh so focus in clear water is amazing while murky conditions will flare a bit. The center beam is still hot even in poor conditions. I have used this torch in a lot of conditions from cenotes and deeper ocean dives to lakes and quarries. I use it sparingly out of the water, but unlike some dive torches this one is versatile enough to do so. I own 4 of these Orcatorch D170's, a primary and a backup for me as well as the same setup for my spouse. Two of my orders came with a free orcatorch tank light which also works nicely in murky water. I will probably add one of the underwater photography models to see how well those do. That to say: I am hooked on Orcatorch! Two things to note: There is no flashing or SOS mode if you need that then you'll have to get a different model. Also, out of the four that I own and all of the dives with these D170's I only had one issue with a switch. The light would not turn on (it was not the safety lock feature on the switch). I'm not sure what happened, but I hit up Orcatorch and their customer service got right back to me. Odepro (seller) quickly shipped an exact replacement (minus all of the extras that I still own from my initial purchase) and I am back in the water! I still have the original so I may tinker with it and see what happened. Overall, we both like the feel in the hand as well as the durability of the torch. Would not hesitate to buy again. Best bang for your buck on a high quality torch from a great company! Service from Odepro has been fantastic!

High Quality, Reliable Dive Torch!
As an avid traveler and scuba diver having a quality reliable dive light is extremely important. Right off the bat I appreciated the case with foam inserts to keep the light safe during packing and travel. It also keeps everything together, so it is simple to find. I was able to take this new light on a recent trip to Cozumel Mexico where I used it for a night dive and multiple Cenotes dives and let me tell you for the money you won't find a better torch. Brightness: When it comes to lights one of the most important factors is brightness. What I liked about this light was the on/off button is easy to find by feel which is important in the dark. You can hold the button down a few seconds when off to lock it during travel or push it multiple times to cycle through various levels of brightness. This allowed me to tailor the power to my needs and extend the already amazing battery life (more on that in a minute). In my attached video you can see the 3 levels (high, medium, low) and when on you can hold the button down for what I am calling "Super" power (3000 lumens!). I was able to clearly see even at a distance during my night dive and was pleased with the fine angle that reduced the blooming effect that wide angle lights can create due to the fine particulates floating everywhere in the ocean. Battery Life: Another factor of dive torches that can't be understated is the reliability and length of battery life. Many dive lights only come with a single battery, and some are not even removeable, which is difficult for multi-dive adventures. Typically, I dive 2 or 3 tanks in a day and having the ability to swap out the battery for a fully charged right on the boat was priceless. This meant I could use the light to its fullest extent without having to worry about having enough power for my next dive. Another great feature was the fact that you can charge the batteries outside of the torch and they have an led indicator light so you know when they are full. This means if I need to charge one battery, I can still take the light with another battery on a dive. Loving the flexibility. Reliability: Needless to say, I have put this torch to the test in multiple dive situations where having a light that turns on every time is vital and this light performed every, single, time. Not only that, but you know you have a good light when 3 other people on the boat get out their lights and they are the same brand or even the same exact model. Downsides: Honestly, I have not found any downsides yet. I did see another diver with a different light made by this same brand which included a green laser and thought that was very useful as well for training or even playing with fish because they follow the laser point (how cool is that?) so I'll probably be looking for that next. As a diver it never hurts to have a great light and this could work as either a primary or a backup, so I highly recommend you try it out!

Great primary or backup light!
To satisfy all the people looking for a quick answer yes you should buy this light! This light is durable, bright, and has a great battery life! It would make for an excellent primary light for the recreational diver as well as a back up light. For a more in depth review, here’s what i got: To start with, you get a great carry case which comes with 2 batteries, the charging cable, spare O-rings, a strap to attach to the light, and obviously the light. My experience with the light over the last 6+ months has been nothing less than amazing. The light has been exceptionally bright on a variety of dives with varying lighting conditions. The battery has yet to died on me during any of my dives with some dives lasting over an hour while being constantly on in the high to medium high setting. The light beam has a decent range underwater and is good for signaling to your dive buddy at night. It’s small form factor makes it easy to attach to gear and stow when not needed on the dive but is still readily accessible. The light exceeded my expectations on all fronts and orcatorch has been one of my go-to light providers for my dive lights thanks to their affordability as well as performance. Like I said earlier, if you’re looking for a light for one reason or another I definitely recommend this light!

The product is not Orcatorch genuine merchandise. It has ok quality on first dive but if you expect to have a high end quality I guess it is not the real thing! I have a picture of it too

A great torch, long battery life even at highest setting. It has three power settings that I used differently on the same dive. As I descend I use on lowest power. As I moved across the reef I went to high power allowing me to be further away from the reef. As I got close To reef I didn’t need full power as I was close to the reef looking for macro subjects so the power level 2 was ideal. Doing multiple fives a day you need a spare battery so you can charge the other or swap during surface intervals. Fear not they provide a spare battery too. It’s a lightweight but powerful torch with a wrist strap. A lanyard with clip would be good to see in the box so that’s one aspect I would advise to add. Simple to do yourself though. When surfacing you want it clipped off to avoid anything dangling or falling out of your pockets. It’s rated to 150m so recreational to tech diving it will be a useful primary or back up torch. The angle beam of the torch is narrow at 6 degrees which is great for longer distance. A more wider beam option would be good to give additional versatility but it really does what you need from it.

Big scam not buy. Not orcatorxh

First torch didn’t work after 1 dive, the company replaced it, the second torch they sent me only lasted one dive as well. Seems to be some manufacturing issue with the spring not pushing the battery to the connection. Worked initially, but the spring gets compressed after 1 use then the battery can’t make the connection to the torch.

This is not orcatorch, this is a very cheap Chinese that is not even a knockoff.
