The Deal4GO Voltage Regulator HeatSink 612F7 is a precision-engineered cooling component designed to dissipate heat from critical voltage regulators on Dell desktops including XPS 8940, OptiPlex 7080/7090, and Inspiron G5 5000. This replacement part ensures stable CPU power delivery, reduces motherboard temperature, and helps maintain peak system performance, minimizing downtime and extending hardware lifespan.

Perfect fit for my XPS 8940. Temp dropped 10 deg C at idle
Install took about a minute. Remove the protective tape first. Dropped VRM temp from 63 C to 53 C at idle. I didn't do any stress test temp monitoring, but 10 deg C at idle is a good indicator that this is going to help quite a bit. I have the i7-11700 (not the 'K') version. Will be upgrading the CPU heatsink soon.Only negative is that it is a little pricey.

Critical to motherboard longevity
It should be a crime that Dell does not already include this in their motherboard considering that maintaining safe regulator temps is so crucial in MB longevity. Install was easy. Two thermal pad tapes to remove and two screws to screw in on the motherboard slot. I felt the heatsink after normal use and they were extremely hot! Imagine if I did had not installed this.

Note
Definitely get this if you have the Dell doesn’t really matter what CPU it is good for cooling

it fits perfectly in my Dell XPS 8940
This fits perfectly in my Dell XPS 8940. I upgraded my Dell with this, along with cpu and case fans, and it has reduced the temperature significantly.

Costco XPS Didn't Have One
When I swapped a CPU on a Costco Dell XPS, the MB threw a no VRM heatsink error. This VRM did the trick of allowing booting again.

This is a must have to dissipate the heat on the VRAM.
I have a dell, XPS 8940 desktop that did not come with this heat sink. After I installed it, it made a huge difference with lowering the overall temps and reduced my fans from throttling up. For the price it is definitely worth it. I have an aftermarket CPU fan that is larger than the fan that came with it and I was able to easily install this heat sink. It’s as simple as peeling back the tape and pressing down over the vram. I would definitely recommend this to those that own a Dell XPS desktop computer.

Difficult to find, worth it.
These are super hard to get from Dell or elsewhere and are important if you're using a "tower style" cooler on your XPS 8940. The fit is perfect and they keep the VRM's nice and cool. Recommended.

Looks well constructed and of good quality but .....
Looks well constructed and of good quality but I could not fit it with my Alseye CPU DR90 Cooler. This cooler uses a big plastic ring to secure the cooler to the mother board. This big plastic ring is hangs over the VRM section and blocks the install of this VRM heatsink. I would need a more low profile heatsink that could fit under the big plastic ring. Looks like I would either have to modify the VRM heatsink or modify the big plastic ring.I decided to modify the VRM heatsink with my Dremal tool. I shaved down the first row of fins nearest to he CPU cooler retaining ring. I know the VRM wont be as affective with the 1 row shaved down but anything is probably betterr than nothing. Dropped temperature an average of 4 degrees per core and dropped he GPU by 2 degrees at idle.
