Hostess Frosted Donettes, 10.75 Ounce

Brings me back to my childhood. They taste "artificial" but in an expected and nostalgic way. Also, with the prices of everything going up, I'm happy that these are still a very good "bang for buck" purchase.

Hi All, as you may have guessed, these are a real treat. The chocolate is good, the donut is good, and they haven't disappointed me, ever. The donettes have a slight lemon taste, not bold, and blends well with the chocolate. They are wonderful with that first cup of coffee in the morning. Or anytime. Enjoy!

I bought these via Amazon Grocery to be delivered. I "opened" my package of donuts, only to realize that 1. I didn't have to tear open the top 2. The package was already open and donuts are missing! I opened the bag without having to tear, ie it was already unsealed, and when I looked in, it looked a LOT emptier than normal. So I went online to find out how many donuts should be in the package. It was clearly not as many as normal because it didn't fill the bag like it should . You get used to how it looks when you buy the same product as a habit. Online info says the bag typically contains 18 donuts. The bag has exactly 14, which is why it looked as empty as it did. Even 4 mini donuts take up a good amount of space in these little bags. The product itself was fresh, is a good value relatively speaking, looks good other than the bag was opened, and has the appropriate softness and moistness for what they are. Clearly this was not a fault with the company that makes them. someone literally opened my donuts and stole four of them. This is highly unprofessional behavior. I would have written this comment in the "how was your item" info, but they don't give a text box for that, and the options they give don't fit the situation. There needs to be a text box for the "other" option in the categories describing what was wrong with the delivery.

The packaging has changed in recent years. Previously the package included a wire tie which could be folded over to keep the package closed. This has gone away so the options are to roll over the bag and/or use a chip bag clip to hold it closed after opening. The donuts are ok taste. Not the best, but not bad. But often are crushed and several broken and others stuck together. Cold weather seems to help since it firms up the chocolate to be more resistant to crushing or melting together, but other than winter, it’s likely the product won’t escape breakages. It would be better if these shipped frozen, but that isn’t the case currently.
