I much prefer the gel over the liquid.
These work quite well there is a small amount of smell which seems to be coming from the tins themselves and not the gel but they do the job as intended and compared to others on the market these are pretty budget friendly. In my opinion i much prefer the gel over the liquid (personal preference) and i feel the gel burns hotter but doesn't last as long. You should get close to 3 hrs off each tin.
