ADO Products GDIKS. Single Garage Door Insulation Kit

I live in Texas where heat is brutal in the summer. My garage door faces east and the garage heats up early in the summer. After I installed this kit there was heat reduction right away. My garage is only warm now instead of as hot as an oven. In Texas any reduction in summer heat is worth it and welcome.

Installed two kits onto a 2 bay aluminum garage door with about 4 feet left over. The metal post used to attach the insulation to the garage door on this one is far better then the plastic ones I have seen on almost all other kits. For me this allowed me to cut them down a bit and have a flush fit to the door and not have the posts protrude past the depth of the door.The kits themselves don't seem like it is too much weight and so far I don't have any problems with the door opening but I do believe when the weather gets a bit warmer I'll have the springs adjusted to support the additional weight. A garage door with proper spring adjustment should stay up when raised about 1/2 way up... I am pretty sure mine doesn't anymore.As for the adhesive (double sided tape) used to attach the posts to the garage door.... a few weeks in and they are all staying. I'll see how they hold up in the next few months but just in case I have liquid nails that I'll use on any that fall off the door.I don't know about the energy savings but by feel alone I think it has kept the downstairs a bit warmer... I'll be insulating the outside wall studs in the garage in the next few week and I then see if there is any $$ savings or if overall there is a belief it is better.100% satisfied though no matter what. I knew going into this there was a possibility the springs might need to be adjusted or replaced so I have zero concerns with that aspect.

Looks to be doing the job but the metal holder that is supposed to hold the insulation in place keep coming lose. I had to use additional adhesive myself to keep them in place.

This product is AWESOME!!!! For those of you who complained about the fit and look of this product obviously didn't install it correctly. I purchased two kits to install on a two-car garage door. There were sixteen separate sections that needed to be installed. Every four vertical sections were different sizes on my garage so it required four different sizes to be cut. I had to trim both the length and the width of each panel but I'm glad I took the time to trim them precisely. The installation looks incredible!!! On a side note, before I installed the metal clips I cleaned the inside of the garage panels with water. Then I used a medium grit sandpaper to rough up the center of each panel where the clips would be adhered to. Then I used some acetone on a rag to clean off the dust from sanding and remove any contaminants prior to sticking the metal clips to the panels. Worked like a charm!!!! My garage door faces east and gets baked by the hot California sun every day. This insulation kit has made a noticeable difference in temperature inside my garage! At least 20 degrees cooler!!!!!

The heat rating is why I purchased the product but can’t say there is any difference in garage temperatures. Not very pleased with the product; Fasteners are coming loose from garage door, doesn’t tuck neatly and stay in garage sections so it looks like crap. Maybe it will work better on a different type of garage door .... very disappointed!

Nice kit for adding a bit of insulation to a garage door. Steel anchor clips made for a sure installation. Note if your panel sections are shorter than 2 feet high you can end up with quite a bit of waste. I didn't run into an issue running out of material but I can see it happening, so be aware of your door segment height. Also having to cut down the height on each piece cost me a bit of time, even so I was able to finish a single car door in about an hour and a half. All in all I'm pleased with the product and the results I was able to achieve.

Easy to install. Excellent product. Works very well in keeping garage temperature warmer in cool weather. It also keeps it cooler in hot weather. I haven't had a chance to see how it performs in very hot weather ( like above 90 degrees) as it is still in the winter months in the south, but I'm confident it will greatly improve the garage temperature making it more pleasant? I'm really pleased with this product and glad l went with the fiberglass insulation (instead of the Styrofoam board types) as it fills the gaps nicely. It really was very easy to install if you understand and follow the directions .
