Mascara - Natural Black Brown By Gabriel Cosmetics

I like that this produce doesn't involve animal testing or use animal products in its manufacture. However, it's quite thin and requires a number of coats to be effective. I bought it too hoping it would help rid me of itchy eyes caused by other mascaras, but this hasn't happened. Disappointing.

I've been wearing this mascara for a couple of weeks now, and I am happy to give it five stars. I have tried SO many natural mascaras -even small batch home-grown stuff found from the weird hippie recesses of the internet. This is my new favourite. I have worn it on long bike rides, to dance class, through a whole day of work in my dusty place of employment which usually makes my eyes water...and I have not had a single raccoon experience. However, the true test came two days ago, when I burst into a torrent of tears (...making a wrong turn in horrible traffic is stressful), and I did not have streams of brown down my cheeks. Additionally, this mascara does not burn the eyes or have any weird scent when applying. I had almost come to the point of accepting that I would just have to get used to daily raccoon eyes if I wanted an extremely limited-ingredient mascara. I am so relieved that I finally tried this brand, and it is at a relatively moderate price point for quality mascara. There is definitely cheaper out there -I've tried it, but the gain in cost has always meant a loss in quality. This one is worth the few extra dollars for me, and if it does not degrade as time goes, I will definitely purchase again.

Had been looking for a gluten free mascara because of celiac disease. Other conventional mascaras made my eyes extremely itchy and watery.This mascara is fantastic. I don't wear make up often, and when I do, it is only a bit of eyeliner and mascara.Color is nice. My eyes are light brown, and black mascara looks a bit too shocking on me for daytime use. My eyelashes are long, but blonde, so I like mascara so it looks like I actually have lashes. I like the muted color of this; looks more like my natural lashes.I was hesitant spending money on something I wasn't sure I would like, but this is great! (Yes, $15 for a product I might wear only a few times a month is a lot to me!)Would highly recommend.

This is a wonderful natural look mascara. I'm not big on the fake long spidery mascara look. I prefer more subtle enhancement, browns rather than jet black, a softer look. If that's your jam too, this product delivers! It's a medium-dark brown, smooth formula, not too clumpy, good staying power throughout the day. You can double coat for a more dramatic look but one coat does the trick. It has a pretty decent brush but still requires a separate comb through between coats. Update 10/17/16: I've decided to change my rating from three to five stars. After a few months of using this the mascara in the tube thinned out enough to where the clumping was no longer an issue, and now almost a year in to using the same tube I'm just now starting to notice that I'll probably need to get a new one soon. So the trade off of the initial heaviness and clumping is a product that lasts seemingly forever.Original review: This mascara goes on way too thick and wet. I have to use a tissue to get the excess off the wand and I'm guessing I'm getting about 3/4 off before I apply it, and then I still sometimes need to use a seperate wand tool on my lashes to comb them out, otherwise my lashes clump together and it doesn't look at all natural. Other than that the color is nice, and it doesn't irritate my eyes like other reviewers have stated (although I don't generally have issues with products irritating my eyes anyway).
