Riso Bello Carnaroli Risotto Rice, 17.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

This is the best rice I have found for making risotto. Carnaroli is so much better than arborio. It turns out creamy because of the high amount of residual starch and absorbs an unbelievable amount of liquid. The price is pretty great too.

For Risotto? Perfecto! Nutty, flavorful and substantial in the mouth. This is a rice made for versatile cooking with spices and herbs. You won't walk away from a helping of this rice hungry, that's for sure. For dishes requiring a more delicate rice that doesn't dominate with taste, heft and appearance, there are a million alternatives. For Risotto... its a rock star.

Although I don't think this is quite as flavorful as other brands I have tried, it makes a good risotto and when purchased in bulk, the price is reasonable.

I searched for and ordered this rice after I received carnaroli rice in a Blue Apron meal. The risotto (from recipe Risotto with Goat Cheese and Brussels Sprouts) was amazing and it’s the first Blue Apron recipe that I have ever “jumped through hoops” tonakw again and source a special ingredient. Of the options at Amazon, I thought this package of six boxes was the best value (since I could eat this stuff several times a week). You can buy this quantity with confidence as the rice is vacuum packed in a bag inside the box, and “best by” date stamped on it is 3/28/22.

I buy this from Amazon because our local grocery stores do not carry any form of this rice. Just do not overcook this. I tried it in a rice cooker so it would be done when I came back home. It was way overdone - just follow directions on the box.

This rice is good. Exactly like the one I used to find at groceries stores in Italy. If you want to make a real good risotto you can buy this rice with confidence!
