iCrimp Hexagonal Ratchet Crimper, I’ve been using it on 6 AWG and 8 AWG wire it works. The ratcheting action gives a strong, crimp , and the hexagonal die is good for round terminals. The tool feels sturdy and well-built, could use more leverage to make crimping heavy-gauge wire more easy. The ratchet mechanism locks in place until the crimp is fully seated, so you don’t have to worry about under-crimping.

I bought this based on reviews and price, and am pretty pleased with how well it works and how robust it feels for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Work perfectly!

It may not be the highest end tool on the market, but as a snobby hobbyist it allows me to crimp ferrules on wires that I would have otherwise twisted and jammed into the terminal block. If I were using it regularly as part of my job, perhaps I'd invest in a more expensive tool, but this does the job just fine for my limited use. Would buy again, hopefully won't have to.

Personally, I like the HEX crimp for ferrules over square or just mashing them flat as that better matches the geometry of what you're going to put the wire in. I've purchased a number if iCrimp / iWiss tools (Dupont, Molex, SMD, etc.) and have been very satisfied with the quality versus cost of the dies.

These are clearly made for the small ferrules (23awg, which means it'll fully crimp a common 22awg) so the 18 & 16 gauge I bought them for feels like closer to mid-range for them, which is what I wanted.

I can't count the number of times I've inserted a braided wire into a terminal block and thought I wish I had a better way to gather up the conductor. The version I have is the iCrimp HSC8 6-6 which does a hexagonal crimp profile. They also offer a square crimp model, HSC8 6-4. Installing ferrule ends on a wire ensures all conductors have max continuity and get connected. The clamping force of the tool tightly bundles conductors improving not only conductivity but containing any possible loose strands and making easier to wire and rewire terminals. Better, safer and easier to manage wire ends. For a professional installation you need professional quality tools. This tool operates smoothly and the quality and precision is evident on close inspection.

This iCrimp Hexagonal Ratchet Crimper is a nice solid tool for crimping specialize wire fitting that only this type of crimper can do. This Bootlace Ferrule crimping tool is so helpful for my work at our local Mission where I volunteer, I do a lot of electrical repairs from stereo's, microwaves, heaters/ fans to appliances. I do a lot of rewiring and this crimping tool and fittings just speed things up and is very convenient. The Crimper has a self-adjusting feature for different size of fittings and a ratcheting mechanism that automatically releases when completing the crimp, preventing over-crimping and ensuring consistent and reliable results. It's just so simple to use. This iCrimp Hexagonal Ratchet Crimper is very competitively priced when you compare this tool to the big box stores, I think this is a great value.

This hexagonal ferrule crimper is easy to use and does a great job. It comes with two extra return springs, but personally, I've never broke one of these springs yet. Regardless, good to have. I've tested it with several wire sizes and it works well with all of them. As you can see in the photo, it makes a beautiful crimp. If you do much wiring, you will need one of these. It's a must-have tool.
