not the best option for creative bible art journaling
i am only commenting on this bible as it relates to bible art journaling and note taking and not about translation or the accuracy of said translation. The line drawings within the bible to color and nice but many of them are so small it could be difficult to color them and stay within the lines. The section for taking notes is very small so unless you wish to create small art designs or can write really tiny you will find the space available for this type of creativity extremely limited and difficult to use.The pages are yellow cream in color so this will have an effect of the color of the art supplies you use compared to a bible that has white or off white pages. The binding seems a bit flimsy and i question it's ability to remain strong after doing bible page prep with gesso followed by all types of art media like water colors, gelatos, stickers, tip in/out, etc.for all of these reasons above i would not use this bible for creative bible art journaling - there are so many nice options on the market if you aren't hung up on having this exact bible translation

Baby got Book
I really love this Bible. It’s the perfect size to take with me to Bible Studies (once this social distancing is done). I love the bright purple. The covering is durable. The designs are cute! I love how there’s space for note taking since I’m a nerd. 🤓The only thing I didn’t really like is the pages bleed through VERY easily... even when using markers that don’t bleed through. Colored pencils can even be seen on the other side.Great purchase though. This translation is one of my favorites!

Beautiful Bible!
I love this Bible! The illustrations are printed in a soft gray and are really fresh designs that I enjoy coloring. There are fewer word art designs in this Bible compared to other publications of "coloring Bibles" but the art that is included speaks to me so it is a trade-off I am willing to make. There are some really lovely full-page designs and lots of little bits of art tucked tastefully around the text and peppered into white spaces here and there. Just delightful to flip through. The deep purple fabric cover is beautiful and feels nice to hold. I'm considering painting my own designs on the cover eventually. The HCSB translation is new to me but I really like it so far. It feels relevant and modern and is very readable and easy to understand.

Absolutely love this bible
Absolutely love this bible. I've never understood God's word as easily as with this translation and the pictures are beautiful. Lots of little girls have asked me about it and it's become a personal treasured possession of mine. I bought a small pack of 24 colored pencils to keep with it and a purple pen to write in it (I like my notes to match the cover).

Different and interesting bible
I have always had a traditional bible KJV. I got this to try out something new for my other bible. I have found this really nice. I like coloring in the pictures while I listen to my bible study. I think this would be great for teens or young adults who may not understand other versions. Would buy again

Beautiful, inspiring Bible with lovely illustrations
I bought this for our 10 year old granddaughter along with colored pencils and other supplies to color and decorate this BEAUTIFUL book. The illustrations are wonderful throughout. Some are minimal which will be a good starting place or will allow her to expand it onto the page. Some are more elaborate and all illustrations are in a lovely gray to trace easily. Can't wait to see what she does with it!

Great for those wanting to creatively connect with the Bible
I have been looking forward to the release of the HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible for several months now, so I was thrilled to receive a copy to review. However, I wasn't the only one who was thrilled with this new Bible, and the brown leather copy ended up being claimed by my husband. So after purchasing the purple linen covered version, I can finally write my review now that I've been able to use it myself. The thing I love the most about this Bible is that the illustrations are much more subtle, modern, architectural, and gender neutral than the Inspire Bible. As soon as my husband and I looked through the Illustrators Bible together, he immediately wanted to start reading and coloring. His positive reaction to the illustrations would definitely make me recommend this Bible to men and women alike. This Bible boosts over 600 illustrations, and they are peppered throughout the Old and New Testaments. There are several full page illustrations at the beginning of some books, mainly in the New Testament, but there are a few in the Old Testament as well. The front and back inside covers are fully illustrated, as well as some of the additional pages at the front. The only drawback to having over 600 illustrations is that several of the designs are repeated anywhere from 2-5 times, so it is not 600 unique illustrations. Over time once I begin to fill in more and more of the designs, it might become redundant to do the same one over and over again. However, I do like that if I were to mess up on a certain illustration, I would have a chance to redo it in another spot. Some of the details are rather small for colored pencils, but that doesn't bother me too much since I love to use watercolors as my main medium for illustrating in my Bible. If someone were to strictly want to use just colored pencils, I would suggest getting ones that have very sharp points or can be sharpened periodically to maintain a thin pencil for easier coloring.Because this is also a notetaking Bible, the pages without illustrations have lined margins. Some of the columns with smaller illustrations also incorporate lines as well, so there is plenty of opportunity to take notes and write out prayers and memory verses. The illustrations are also printed in gray to make them less dominant; you could easily write over top of an illustration of desired.Like all journaling Bibles, the HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible has thin pages and small font, but I have grown accustomed to using these Bibles and find it easy to manage. I also like the fact that this Bible is single column. This Bible is larger than my ESV double column journaling Bible (my husband's HCSB is pictured above with my ESV), but it is comparable in size to other single column Bibles.Overall, I think the HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible will quickly become a favorite for both my husband and myself. We are excited to study and illustrate God's Word together with these Bibles. I would highly recommend this Bible to anyone looking to creatively connect with scripture.I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Uninspiring
No wonder the thumbnails show the exterior from various angles, but only two inside images! Had I seen more of the illustrated pages, I would not have purchased this Bible. You might want to thumb through a copy to see if the art is to your taste before purchasing. The binding is nice. I love the bright purple cover. The grey scale of the art is good for coloring. The margins are useful. The art work is in one or two consistent styles reminiscent of '70s doodles. Lots of the feathers we see these days. No books titles are illuminated. Most doodles are unrelated to the scripture on the same page, and some even contradict the tone of the scripture. Entire pages are dedicated to abstract drawings at the end of some chapters, so that each chapter can begin on the right page. These abstract drawings are not often thematically linked to either the former book, nor the next book. Very few familiar scriptures are illustrated or highlighted. For example, instead of John 3:16, the emphasis is on 4:42, the testimony of the Samaritan, with two tiny butterflies surrounding a declaration that Christ is the savior of the world. Butterflies. Isaiah 40: some abstract leaves. This translation consistently uses the name Yahweh in the OT, if you are interested. The sermon on the mount: a hand holding a candle to indicate we are the light of the world. Galatians has no fruit of the Spirit, but it does have some wheat. Ephesians does have a sword and a shield on the armor of God page. I will keep this to practice coloring in, but my goal was to be drawn to spend time meditating on the word. Most of these images could be from secular coloring books. I will order an Inspire large print in September.

Linda Biblia
Linda presentación, aunque el tipo de letra ya es un poco difícil de leer para mi. Me gustó
