Works as Advertised
OMG, first time using this product. Product work as advertised. Must have for mechanics and non-mechanics. Product paid for it self already. I had 2 screws that were strip really bad. It took 45 seconds per screw to remove. Shop cost for repairs would have been around $30.

Not Worth it, don’t buy!
Absolutely do not purchase. One of the extractor bits broke in half within two seconds of using it, absolutely no way it was user error. I had used another size drillbit and extractor bit on something else, and it worked just ok I guess. but at that moment, I should’ve known this set was not worth the money. I transitioned to a different size bit for a different task and it broke in half ruining the piece of machinery I was working on! Not only was this purchase not worth it but it’s going to cost me an additional $1,000 in repairs to the barrel I was working on. This purchase is nowhere near what you need, do not buy!

Has saved me more than once
If you do any work with screws, nuts, or bolts, having an extractor set should be part of your toolbox. I have stripped screws on more than one occasion. Having this set in order to dig in and pull it out has been paramount. Great product, definitely worth it!

Small but good
Remember these are very small and it takes a good eye and steady hand to use.

Saved the day
This saved the day when a tiny screw was stripped while trying to replace a part on my 3d printer

Mixed feelings
I had a smaller problem screw I was trying to get out so I ordered this. There are a good variety of pieces, and it has the potential to be ok. For me, these made the problem worse. I drilled out the screw, started trying to extract reversing it out, and the extractor sheered off leaving me with a hardened steel chunk embedded in the screw hole. It is definitely hard steel, I broke several bits trying to drill it out. Frustrating!

Very capable tool
I always thought that apple wedgers were a waste of money. It seriously takes me about two minutes to wedge an apple. It's not a deterrent to me choosing to eat an apple in any way. An apple wedger was taking about 30 seconds off of the prep time and adding two minutes onto the clean up time. It just seemed like a waste. And I really want to keep my fingers. Then I discovered a pineapple slicer. That thing was truly amazing, so the thought occurred to me that perhaps I ought to give the apple wedger another try. And perhaps I ought to try one that was purchased somewhere other than the dollar store. I learned a few things. 1. It wasn't a waste of money. A good wedger can properly core and wedge apples in about 10 seconds. And this one usually only takes about another minute or so to clean. I'm still gaining 30 seconds. 2. An apple wedger is something you probably have to replace every couple of years. The reason I always thought wedgers were a waste is because the ones you buy at the dollar store aren't very sharp when you get them. I've used this one on maybe a couple dozen apples and pears since buying it, and the blades are still sharp. However, they don't just stay sharp forever. Not for nine bucks This one is a good one. The handles give good control so if you have a weird shaped apple, you can kind of direct the tool down the core. And not once, since I have used it, have I felt like I was going to chop off a finger. This is not a kitchen essential. I do eat a lot of apples and pears, though, so it's handy to have around

TO PEOPLE BUYING FOR THE TINY BITS + EXTRACTORS
Practically unusable, had to buy an alternative product. Any bit from #7 - #10 will break no matter what. I do laptop repair and these bits have only survived 5 tiny laptop M screws before falling apart regardless of the speed + force. Do they get the work done in the first place? - NO. Do not buy if you want to use the tiny drills, if you want to use the bigger ones- I don't know, but the tiny drill bits and extractors are pure garbage. Poor quality, does not work well, and barely completes the job needed. Not worth the price.

It would appear that in the 80s they used to make fasteners that are harder that our today's tools. Low quality steel. Was enough to extract exactly two screws in an old house. Busted after that -- no amount of pre-drilling, cleaning or kind words helped extract the rest.

Made a pilot hole in a stripped stainless steel screw, with the drill end of the extractor; the threaded end just spun around and wouldn’t bite into the stainless steel (yes, the drill was set in reverse). Used drill end to deepen pilot hole and pliers to grasp metal to unscrew. So it worked, but not as designed. If screw was a softer metal, it might work as intended. Update: The seller emailed me after this review, and generously offered to refund the purchase price. I was very pleasantly surprised, since I did not request a refund, and they didn’t ask for the kit to be returned to obtain the refund. So I’ve changed my review to reflect their above and beyond customer service. I will use the kit if there is another stripped screw to remove, and update again. Thank you!
