(Taylor and Rose Secret Agents) by Woodfine, Katherine, Mountford, Karl James (ISBN: 9781405293273) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Another excellent Taylor & Rose Adventure - This book was long-awaited for me, having read the whole series from the first book, The Clockwork Sparrow. I thoroughly enjoyed it until the ending which left me feeling disappointed and quite sad. Without wishing to spoil a good read for Taylor & Rose followers, the ending seemed strange. As she left the cafe, Sophie told Lil and Joe, she 'may see them tomorrow or perhaps the next day'. Strange words to say to her best friend with whom she was close and who had been with her through everything? It was so unnecessarily 'detached' and not true to the way Sophie's character has been portrayed throughout the books. She walked away alone with just a backward glance....no wave from her close friends? Maybe this is the beginning of a new series for a now more 'grown up' Sophie, taking up the new opportunity offered and with the potential new friend in the wings? However, I do hope everyone meets up in London again in the future.... Review: Lovely for children and adults alike - I have just finished this series (reading alongside a demanding work project) and I plan to buy them for a couple of 10 year olds I know. I found them very readable even as a 30 something old and a nice reminder of why I enjoyed reading as a child. Lovely books that can be read by all ages and provide opportunity for some shared discussion about reading and plot across generations.

A fabulous conclusion to a fine series
What a superb idea to go to the new world with its centre New York. Many twists and turns and brilliant thinking from the lady detectives. What unique series will Katherine come up with for her next writings? I cannot wait!

What ho!
My granddaughter's a big fan of stories about Taylor & Rose, who run a detective agency in Edwardian London, and has given me the the other books in this series. I enjoyed reading them, and so bought this - the final installment of the series - for her as soon as it was published earlier this year. As in the other stories, the intrepid heroines are pitted against a nefarious secret society bent on world domination: a battle of wits which comes to a climax in this book. I enjoyed reading it about as much as the others, although its setting (which sees Taylor & Rose and all of their supporting staff shipped off to New York) means that there is less tension between two interweaving strands of story, which was a feature of the other books. In addition, I found I was getting confused about which character was which - partly due to my inattention, and (maybe) partly because they weren't as clearly delineated as they could have been, even though they say things like 'Forsyth! That rotter! [...] I'm jolly well glad I shot him back!' [p253].

Lovely!
It’s somewhat sad knowing this is the last book in this collection of detective novels, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all. And I would suggest to anyone to read the whole series, no matter what your age!

My granddaughter and I have read every book in the series together and loved every one! We were so excited that this one is finally available in book form. She is a teenager but we still enjoy reading books together. Can't wait to read this one.

I loved the Sinclaires mysteries and Taylor and Rose, but i must say this last book was a disapointment. It left so many things without answers and i feel like theres still room for more books in the future. I still loved the book though because I've grown to love each of the characters so that was the only thing that made this (Hopefully not) last book worthwhile.

Another great book in the Taylor and Rose series. My son and I have enjoyed all of books and are sad to come to its end.
