As advertised. I bought this for someone that knows almost no world history so this is a great starting point

Smart looking tome full of facts.

I provided an extensive review. With quotes from the book but it somehow got censored.Not wasting my time further.Book is poorly written, superficial, opinionated where it should be factual, and has obvious mistakes.

Negative slant towards Western Civilization. Would recommend How The West Won by Rodney Stark for anyone interested in a positive slant on the development of Western Civilization.

The author is knowledgeable with a smart and very readable style. He does a great job of making sense of a very complicated subject. I was almost sorry to see the book end! I'm already looking for other things he's written.
