Not good at single scoop servings
Meh. As a user of an aeropress for a few years, I am used to the paper filters and was disappointed at the shortcomings of the metal filters. They require you to use more than one scoop of coffee, as even a very finely ground single scoop is not enough to stop the water from pouring through the filter. With a couple scoops, these metal screen filters are less distinguishable from the paper ones, and are serviceable, but not exceptional. Not sure if the other reusable filters out there are any better, but may try them out to see.

I use these filters every day. Definitely the best filters out there.
These reuseable filters are a quality product that I now rely on every day for my morning cup. I started using an AeroPress with these filters to make my coffee a few months ago and now there is no going back for me. This combination has consistently produced the best tasting coffee I have been able to make out of all the many methods I have tried over the years. Pour-overs, moka pot, french press, drip makers. You name it. I think that this simple filter is key in making the kind of coffee I love - the paper filters are not only wasteful, but they produce a bland cup for me every time. The important oils that make coffee taste great are absorbed by the paper filters that come with the AeroPress, so I don't advise using them.Instead, grab one of these filters for a richer brew. I didn't know when I bought it, but the package actually came with two filters, so now I have one for camping and for the house, or just in case I lose one. The material is obviously stainless steel, it is very durable from my experience. I've used one filter for months now and it is just the same as the day I got it. All I do is wash it under the sink for one second and let it out to dry. I'm not worried about it clogging because I haven't ever seen any coffee particles being stuck in the fine mesh. That seems to be one thing I like about the JavaPresse filters over a similar filter a friend was using on his last camping trip - these filters are sturdy and very fine. They must have many strands in the mesh because the coffee I make with them is much cleaner tasting.I also appreciate the fact that this will save me money on filters and not waste resources on making filters when you don't need them! This isn't the first product I've bought from JavaPresse and it won't be the last. I really recommend their JavaPresse Manual Coffee Grinder | Conical Burr Mill for Precision Brewing , which is a great compliment to the AeroPress when traveling, camping, or just want a precise grind without paying hundreds of dollars. It fits into the AeroPress, so along with my filter, that's all I need to make the same coffee I enjoy at home, on the road.

JavaPresse Mesh Filter for AeroPress is a True Bargain
As soon as I received this filter, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to make my first brew with my AeroPress. So, I quickly unwrapped it, read the instructions and made some coffee. I’m pretty serious about my coffee so I noticed the pure coffee taste unadulterated by paper filters and so I wanted to write a review. This JavaPresse product, the reusable filter for AeroPress takes the cake on fantastic quality and service. You get TWO high-quality, fine-mesh filters packaged in an elegantly designed envelope complete with friendly instructions and link to the JavaPresse family website. It’s this attention to detail that I love most when shopping for niche products! Now one thing I will mention is that this is the first and only steel filter I have used for the Aeropress. Therefore, I cannot compare this product to similar ones, but what I can do is offer an endorsement on its own merits. The stainless steel (that means rust-proof!) filter is extremely thin and holds a very thin mesh to prevent any grounds from flowing into your morning brew. In other words, your coffee is going to taste great. I mean it.Why do I love the metal filter as opposed to paper filters? Taste primarily. True coffee connoisseurs know that paper contains soluble impurities that negatively affect the coffee flavor.Additionally, I still found the clean-up process quite easy. It wasn’t challenging to pull the mesh off and dump the grounds in the trashcan. A quick rinse restored it back to its clean state.I’ll just add too, that if you know someone who loves coffee or owns an AeroPress, this item is a great gift accessory with a coffee grinder, coffee beans or other coffee product. I’m buying another pair for a close friend’s birthday coming up.I am very happy with my purchase and hope that this review helps anyone else who’s considering the JavaPresse stainless steel filter.

Bought the filter a few weeks ago and only had time to use it last week. Same problem as others report, filter is too think and the cap won't fit. I tried so hard that I cut my hand at the edge of the cap. With a lot of pressure it works, but then the coffee just runs through... back to the paper filters, will have to buy a new batch of them now .

I just received my mesh filter package in the mail and used it for the first time today. I am super excited and satisfied with the overall quality and ease of use. For starters, the packaging was very simple yet neat. I like the fact that it comes with two mesh reusable filters so that I may keep one at home and travel with the other. I also appreciated the welcome letter from the CBO of JavaPresse Coffee Company along with a recipe on the opposite side of the letter. As for my first cup, the inverted brewing method was easy and highly effective. The process really did enhance the taste of my coffee and I like the fact that the mesh filters are durable. I'm confident that I'll be able to reuse them many times to enjoy the same quality of coffee each time. In addition, the clean up process is also something to consider. The good news is that these filters are extremely easy to clean and reuse. Now that I've used this product, I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a delicious and fresh cup of coffee as much as I do. For all of the reasons above, I'm confident that you'll enjoy your purchase as much as I do.Happy Brewing,Narine
