Acer Revo Build Desktop, Intel Core i5-6200U, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, Windows 10 Home, M2-601-UR61

Bought this little jewel last week. I wanted something to set up in the living room, running the hdmi through my receiver to my large screen (65") as a monitor and using my large speaker surround sound system, that wouldn't take up the space of a big desktop. I'm really floored at the ease of set-up and the power of this small footprint box. It also has wifi (already up and running with the big computer and another backup computer) and Windows 10 that already downloaded the new anniversary upgrade (something one of my bigger boxes is still waiting on). I networked the computers and played some of my video music files and they're fantastic on big screen with all that sound. Of course I did hit one snag (so far), but that wasn't the computers fault. It concerns accessing a file on the network that has some windows 10 incompatibilities related to an old Lotus 123 program. I ordered a USB 3.0 external hdd and a USB 3.0 external dvd player to solve that (by loading the old program install discs to the new hdd). I also had a wifi keyboard and mouse on hand that I use in place of the one that came with the system (personal preference). This little box has three USB 3.0 ports! As I've said, I've only had this box for a week and I'm stillplaying with it, but so far it's better than anything I expected from computer this size.

Received the Revo expecting great computing performance; however, the results were disappointing. The computer freezes often while performing normal tasks such as updating and backing up.The limited number of apps available through the Microsoft Store are filled with bugs and run as slow as molasses. I am not sure if this is a hardware problem or a software problem; but, it took almost 10 hrs to install the New Windows Update and the computer still runs slowly. The boot protocol runs slowly and Windows 10 is a retarded nightmare for this supposedly high powered machine. Opened program manager and the network was transmitting data at a reasonable rate, however the computer's Ram, Hd, and Processor were not responding to the inputs properly, and received information was being processed slowly. Windows utilities take a long time to run and error messages are commonplace. Again I'm not sure if this is a problem with the hardware or software; but, I'm using my IOS, OSX 10.9, and Android 6 Marshmallow devices way more often than the Acer windows 10 because it is too slow.On the other hand the device looks good and works good as a jukebox. Its compact like a mac mini and doesn't take up lots of desk space. The Windows Media Player works better than previous versions. I also like the new start menu setup. It might speed up if 8 more Gigs of DDR4 1600 RAM are added, or perhaps future updates will improve efficiency.If this device utilised it's power efficiently it would be a great machine. I switched to OSX in 2010 and bought this device to see how Microsoft's progressed with time. I'm not happy with the machine but I keep it as a novelty desktop use once in awhile and as a Jukebox in my bedroom. I will stay away from from using Microsoft Products in the future until they properly design their products to run efficiently.

Bought two but one is noticeably slower than the other. Great specs in a small package.
