De Colores and Other Latin American Folksongs for Children (Anthology)

This is great! My wife can play piano, I can play guitar and we can both sing the songs. Good way to teach our daughter some songs and get closer as a family.

Our nanny has sung many of these songs with my children. When she found her copy of the CD we enjoyed listening to it. I was so pleased to see both this book with lyrics and the CD here on Amazon I purchased a few copies for myself and for her to share with future families. These songs are a gift, such beautiful music.

Love this album. Clear voice, simple but lively music and words. This has become a staple in our house and the kids and I have fun trying to memorize the songs. My only gripe is that the English translations in the lyric book are very nice and helpful, but sometimes the meaning is sacrificed a little more than I'd like, to make the song more pretty. It would be more "ok" if this wasn't an effort to learn Spanish for my kiddos. (I speak Spanish, and have to tell them the literal translation sometimes if they are trying to decode the lyrics from the book.)Overall, very very happy we found this!

This is a wonderful book of popular songs in Spanish, which my triplet boys latched onto immediately. The songs are very engaging, and each page has lovely artwork. I speak Spanish, and my boys were born in Spain. I have been trying very hard to help them maintain a little Spanish, and this book has been very helpful. It doesn't come with a CD, but you can easily learn the tunes of the songs if you know how to read music. And even if you only speak rudimentary Spanish, I think it's possible to learn the songs and enjoy them.This book quickly became the boys' favorite bedtime routine. I hear them singing the songs during the day as well. I highly recommend it.

This purchase was a bit of an impulse buy. However, I was pleasantly surprised! We already owned and listened to the CD that matches this book. My baby loves the music on the CD. I bought this book because I thought she would enjoy it as she got older to go along with the CD. The book has beautiful illustrations and each page has the music and words for each song. The words are provided in both Spanish and English. However, the best part of the book is that each page also has a tidbit of info about the song, such as where it came from or how to play a game as you sing the song.

Fantastic resource for the children's voice lessons I teach (5-8 years old). Simplistic accompaniment pattern and lead sheet provided!

Great songs!

An excellent collection of traditional children's songs in Spanish with very colorful illustrations.. They are simply arranged and easy to learn. I recommend getting the CD of the same title. It will help you to learn the tunes and words. The only this I don't like are his translations to English. They aren't translations. They are rewrites.

This goes with the CD, which we all (English mum and Spanish dad and six month old daughter) just love. There are the words in Spanish to sing along, an English adaptation to enjoy, the music and a little blurb about the roots of each song. And even better, the illustrations are just lovely. We all enjoy looking at it. Unfortunately we got the paperback copy which our baby has already chewed and bent. I've no doubt we'll get a hard back version too.

Beautiful book - very easy to use as some tunes are familiar in UK. Would highly recommend as way in to Latin American music and culture

My son is half british-half peruvian. Living in England he speaks more english than spanish, this book and its CD are great, he loves them and loves to sing the songs.
