Essential Reference for Traveling Ham Radio Operators
This book is useful to ham radio operators as they travel across country. It is re-published every couple of years to keep it current. I buy a new copy every few years, but not every condition. It's small size makes it easy to carry along with the appropriate radios on my person or in my car.If you use VHF/UHF repeaters as you travel around the country, this is an essential reference. There are changes that occur that are not reflected in this book, but unless it was published daily, you have to expect that. Generally, it is quite accurate.

A must have for HAM use when away from a computer.
Got this as an XMas present. Great for in the field or your vehicle. Small and easily stowed away until you need it.....when You don't have access to an online directory and you need to have that repeater frequency and settings.

Refer to this book often
I refer to this book quite often. I have found that some of the Repeaters listed in my area are no longer in service. Still I think this is a good reference book.

Flimsy materials and no more separate sections by band.
Two criticisms. But first, an acknowledgement that trying to keep an updated list of the status of this many ham radio repeaters is a huge task and my hat is off to ARRL for all they do.But I'm disappointed in this new edition. First, it's flimsy. The paper is not quite King James Bible thin, but it's not far off. The cover is glossy, but the cover stock is also way to thin. So, it doesn't feel substantial or, more importantly, durable.Second--and this is the biggie--ARRL decided to do State x City listing, but to lump ALL band repeaters in the same listings under cities. So, you have 2-meter, 440, 220, and the rest, all in the same listing. Visual, I find it visually confusing and I just don't see the advantage of listing all together.

Handy if you're somewhere you can't get a cell signal and look this stuff up online. The online databases are also constantly updated.
