Solid good phone for the price. I only wish the keyboard was better.
I've been using this phone for about a year. and it's not not a bad phone for it's price. It's made out of good material quality. It's solid and feels good in your hand. I love the picture and video quality. I make tons of videos with it that layman thinks its top quality video. It's fast and responsive. Sometimes it heats a little bit, but nothing to be concerned about. The only thing that throws me off is the keyboard. It is kinda difficult to type with it, since the cursor may keep jumping for one place to another. I tried downloading other keyboard, but it didn't really fix the issue. Now, I don't chat or type much, and luckily there's voice notes to circumvent this problem. Also if you don't use any cover with it, it may easily slip out of your hand. It never fell with me, so the exterior still looks like new with me. I have no protectors on the glass, since it's Gorilla glass, so I'm guessing it's pretty hard. I hope it lasts for 2 more years. For the price, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Oh, and the 32 GB memory is super cool, and I love the fact that it's dual sim.UPDATE 2019:I've been using this phone for about 3 years now. It's actually a good phone. I've had no issues with the camera like many other people indicate. (Front camera sucks tho). HOWEVER, I've had serious issues with the battery. A couple of months ago the battery used to go from 50% to 15% in 1 hour. I bought a new battery on Ebay, and it still does the same. Now this thing goes from 80% to 0% in 15 minutes of usage. I can see in the settings that Phone Idling uses most of the battery. I've installed many apps to try to combat this problem, nothing helped. I've reset the phone to factory settings to no avail. If this wasn't an issue, this phone would be amazing, and I would keep it for as long as it can go. But unfortunately I have to buy a new phone, because I can't rely on the battery at all.

Great looks but unreliable and very disappointing after-sales service.
I purchased this model phone (HTC One X9 carbon gray) in late January from a bricks and mortar retailer. Packaging and product design looks and feels amazing, and functionality is pretty good whilst it continues to function,... but soon after purchase the functionality deteriorated quite quickly.- About 90% of the people I called using my HTC One X9 reported a digital ticking/clicking sound on the audio (it was not audible to the user of the phone);- Bluetooth functionality did not work as well as my 5 year old Sony Xperia Arc - sometimes troublesome to connect, especially audio player which would intermittently hang.- After 4 months the display would randomly blank to show a black screen intermittently (another reviewer reports similar occurrence)- Shorty after, the phone can no longer be powered up and the display fails to illuminate at all.It still look looks mint with no bumps or scratches, with all original documentation, packaging and accessories ... but looks are not everything. As I purchased in Australia, it came with a 24month Asia-Pacific wide warranty from the manufacturer. (This gives credibility to another poster that reported that this model was made for Taiwan... or perhaps Asia-(western) Pacific area ? ).The after sales service starts with calling the manufacturer on their toll-free number, who, after listening to a brief description of the problem advised me to return the phone to my place of purchase for either 'repair or replacement'.... No RMA number at this stage, only the name of the representative.Of course the purchase location (a large electronics/consumer goods chain), no longer stocks this model and proceeds to organise to return to the manufacturer. They could not give me an committment on the repair time, but set my expectations at 4 plus weeks. (Perhaps they ship back to HTC in Taiwan by a slow ship?... it is the only explanation I could think of that would seem to make sense).Suggest that those who use this product store their data in the cloud or place an optional microSD card into the phone for storage, because there is no way that you can retrieve data from the internal memory storage if the phone should fail to power-up.I compare the service received to that I received from a large American computer/semiconductor manufacturer a couple of years back where they provided me a prepaid Fedex bag to return goods to their product centre in Asia, and delivered a factory new product back to me within 1 week. Two weeks later a followup call was received from customer service to check if everything went well. HTC could perhaps learn from this experience if they are serious abouting gaining and retaining loyal customers.Good features of this phone are it's large sized screen, finish, and ease of use. The package comes with a hard & clear phone case which protects the metal back and sides from becoming scratched.

A decent phone but
I travelled and bought this phone as a replacement for a misplaced phone and initial use was excellent. Suddenly the screen went blank and won't respond and after a while it came back up and i thought to restore to factory setting maybe it was one of the App downloaded to the phone. After this by 7pm that same day the phone ceased to respond and has been with the authorized centre for 20 days now without any success in repairing it. Update to be posted after receiving it from the repairer.Update on this phoneI gave the phone to a friend and he diagnosed the issue as a faulty update, the service center didn't know what to do so I paid an independent engineer who formatted the phone and reinstalled the OS and now it works like a charm.
