Seemed to be the answer for my elderly mother, BUT she has a virgin v6 box. while it does control both Philips TV & Virgin box, there is no way to specify a specific channel (ie BBC1) so once she has got well and truly lost in virgins outer channels, (through stabbing at scroll buttons) the TV is infuriating and upsetting. I have searched for ways of setting a home channel or limiting available channels and it is not possible - if the geemarc would accept recording of 2or3 button presses it would be the ideal remote, but it doesnt, so Im going to have to shelve it.There is an undocumented feature, if you accidentaly press the 1/2 button & the - minus button, the learned codes will no longer work at all, any of them. I spent 3 hours today trying every conceivable permutation and nothing worked, then I remember seeing her holding down lots of buttons so I tried paying attention to the flashing lights and the [1/2] &[-] gave a strange light sequence.I wish manufacturers would provide decent documentation rather than quick guides.

This was simple to program and simple to operate, ideal for the elderly and even for those with the onset of dementia.Word of warning, if using for just one device makes sure to program both sources for the same remote, my elderly father managed to press the source button and the remote wouldn't work and then started messing around with the complicated original, found him watching the radio on the TV!

Waste of time, 2nd one ordered and both were useless

Brilliant product ,My elderly father finds it easy to use as was strundling before due to several strokes and arthritis in hand .glad we fund this product ...Can't rate it high enough
