I bought an old house and needed to seal off some electrical junctions in the basement. They get the job done.Since they are on the ceiling, I can’t attest to whether they are truly waterproof but they do have a seal.Got a good price and they are definitely worth having a few “just in case” for use around the house.

When I was drilling holes for this, my drill bit just melted holes in it. I think the plastic is just really soft. Make sure to maybe go faster or use a really sharp drill bit when drilling holes.

This is the best box like this that I've used. The retaining screws for the lid are plastic, but are durable and stay retained preventing loss. I managed to fit an hour meter, a flasher, 6 toggle switches, and 6 indicator lamps into it with a little room to spare. So far it has survived being mounted to the canopy frame of a diesel tractor and exposed to the elements. If I ever decide to make another setup like this, I'll definitely make sure to get this box again.

Le hubiese calificado con 5 estrellas, el único defecto, es el precio, me parece demasiado $110 por una caja de [4.33 x 3.15 x 3.35 pulgadas (110 x 80 x 85 mm) ], la compré de cualquier manera pues sólo necesitaba una y me salía más caro transportarme a comprarla donde frecuentemente voy (Centro de CDMX), donde las encuentro al 65% del valor que aquí y aún más baratas si adquiero más de 5.En cuanto al producto en términos utilitarios, ninguna queja, es muy buena caja, fácil de taladrar y cortar con las herramientas adecuadas para la operación, el sello es bueno, los tornillos pare cerrarlo son fácilmente manejables, y se puede colocar las pequeñas regletas dentro sin problemas para las conexiones eléctricas o para elementos electrónicos.Muchas veces uso estas cajas como sustituto de las cajas eléctricas exteriores de luces, o maquinaria de taller casero en combinación con interruptores basculantes impermeables de 20 A resistentes a intemperie (de los que sirven para embarcaciones), obviamente lo anterior sólo cuando pienso instalar interruptores; para tomas de corriente es imprescindible usar las cajas impermeables con tapa adecuadas y los tomacorrientes con especificación WR.
