full and smooth flavor
In my automatic coffee maker, this coffee is full flavored and smooth with no sugar and cream. Saw some reviews that this coffee was harsh but this is my second bag and I plan to keep buying it.

Excellent crema, nice full round flavor. See notes...
Edit: Trombetta seems to be moving its expiration dates out another year - by the time coffee is a year out of roast, it loses crema and character. At age two, it is ready to be tossed. Based on the most recent Trombetta Bar we've bought, they seem to be moving to date it out there three years. Me personal, I've had it with that policy. If they want to deliver stale coffee at premium prices, count me out. Local roasters may lack Italian finesse, but if the coffee is freshly roasted, it's better than the stale work of the masters...Still, I'm keeping the 5 stars because if you get it fresh, it's magical.Trombetta Gold is a 1 kg package of coffee roasted for bar use. It's Arabica beans that give a nice crema in the cup and has the good full round flavor that's delicious but often hard to get with inferior arabica roasts. If Arabica blended with Robusto beans are more up your alley and you want a bit more caffeine and a little bolder expression, try Trombetta Red Bar.Both excellent. Depends what you like.Personally I find I get best results with Trombetta if I grind it a little on the coarse side and tamp it a little more firmly than the average coffee, takes it up a notch probably due to a different pressure/extraction that agrees with their roast. Yields results very much like Trombetta serves in their bar by the train station in Rome... although the tap water in Roma has a different mineral profile than mine, so it isn't EXACTLY the same for that reason... ;)As an aside - brew some with mineral water from Italy if you want a flavor to make you homesick for the boot...Overall - our favorite - this is the one I keep coming back to - and that's saying a lot because our local roasters in Sicily do a very good job, too.

Very disappointing
Disappointing: roast beans are darker than medium, taste is more burned than sweet.I spend a lot of time in Italy, and know my espresso. This is very disappointing: Trombetta isa known brand, yet the taste/ aroma just don't live up to expectations. I will not buy this oneagain.

Excellent flavor, medium to low acidity
Excellent flavor, medium to low acidity. Beats Lavazza in my superautomatic hands down, for pretty much the same price. Will order more.

Fabulous espresso!
We were pretty hooked on lavazza beans, but these are even better! Wonderfully chocolaty flavor, wonderful smoothness, and great crema. We will definitely get them again!

Rich Crema
Makes a very nice espresso. Has the complexity and smoothness of a Robusta blend. The beans sometime have a little trouble getting into the hopper of my Saeco Intuita, but nothing terrible. Would recommend this for a great cup of espresso.
