If you are looking for leather gloves that are water resistant, I do not recommend them, as they get wet immediately.

I thought I would try these gloves as they are significantly less expensive than the Youngstown gloves I usually buy (about 30% of the price!). I may have received a bad batch, but given where the gloves have failed, I don't think this is the case. I purchased these gloves specifically for working with barbed wire and fencing work. They are not suitable for the job. As can be seen in the images, the right hand glove developed a massive hole after less than 3 hours of use. The gloves are still clean! The hole also formed in a non-contact part of the glove, which was surprising. I persevered for a period, but then the fingers started to develop holes and I started to get spiked. I'm working with standard high-tensile barb removing fences (no razor wire or cutting edges). The only reason they get one star is that before they broke, they did work to prevent me getting punctured. your mileage may vary, but I will be looking for a refund on these and go back to Youngstown kevlar-lined gauntlets despite the rediculously high price. Better than getting tetanus!

Finally a pair of work gloves that will protect my hands and be flexible enough to do the job.

Jobs - SMAW welder / Crane swapper (deckhand) Welding - Great for light jobs of burning few rods. Tacking and fitting and normal steel work. Deckhand - from letting a rope bag repel through my hands, down 300ft tunnels to slinging straps and steel cables all day. I've worn these for a total of 7 days working and they fit to my hand very well now and have minimal wear. I do burn stray stitching with a lighter to stop threading out. But honestly decent glove. Decent protection and comfort. I can't really complain but if i was to make em myself i would add a slight padding in the palm. These gloves have a lot of bad reviews but i do enjoy them. And i can say they probably have a month of pretty dirty rough work left in them. If you like a rough leather working glove these are probably the second best pair I've used and my first is discontinued. Side note. It might be the pair you get delivered that makes them bad or good. Pro tip. If you have oil for water proofing your work Boot dab a little in each outter palm and work in to get lasting wear on any leather glove.
