I have recently been recommended these exact capsules from a friend who has been and is currently taking them. The reason being is simply to enhance the memory capabilities that one can exert from their own minds. Has it really done any of that? I can confidently say that it has. These capsules have worked well to strengthen my memory skills and allow me to remember or study college material for exams especially! Now it is solely based on the user if he/she wants to remember all the material for the rest of their lifetime by continuously studying and "practicing" the material otherwise your mind will begin to bury the information acquired. I have seen the results of these capsules work and they are simply great! I will mention the improvement should not be expected to make you a living and breathing calculating machine but it should smoothly expand the thoughts formed in your head and allow quick reaction time for particular "data retrieval" moments. Sleep, life stress, food consumed, headaches, and any other outside factors can impact the products performance as well. In other words, if you’re having a bad day with life problems swallowing your time up and your body is physically or mentally in pain; do not expect these capsules to save the day. They have helped me think better in rough situations, but it is up to the user to think of thoughts that keep any person in society ongoing without total meltdown. That is all I have to say about the product. I take about 2 a day although recommended dosage is 3. On an empty stomach, I can taste the after "burb" taste when drinking water with the capsule and waiting about 10 minutes. It has a strange taste but when I think of pig brain or whatever brain it contains, the smell of the burb somehow matches with it. It's nothing to be frightened about, just my experience! If one is concerned about this, simply intake the product with food. Even says to take with meals on the bottle but life is all about experiments involving trial and error and many times, success! Definitely would recommend this product to others but I am willing to keep trying new things also!

I have noticed a distinct improvement in my ability to focus and cognitive performance ever since I began taking this product. It works well with Dr. Best's Magnesium Bisglycinate supplement. The latter complements this product in that better quality sleep enabled by Magnesium enhances the efficacy of this product. The capsule is the standard size and vegan and I did not experience any reflux or regurgitation after taking it. Phosphatidylserine (or phosphatidyl serine or just PS) is a fatty substance known as a phospholipid that is a component of cell membranes in plants and animals. In the brain, it plays a role in cell-to-cell communications. It is not an essential nutrient as it is naturally produced in the body, and it can be obtained from animal organs and from lecithin from soybeans, sunflower seeds, and other plant sources.

Okay, so I quadrupled the dose under doctor's orders, and I think it works better than any other non-prescription sleep aid. I cannot take melatonin due to a thyroid hormone disorder, and other than a prescription, this is the only stuff that has ever helped in 20 years of struggling with insomnia. I've tried phosphorylated serine (non-soy) but it doesn't work as well as this stuff does. I've used Calm CP and Calm PRT ($86/bottle) from Neuroscience, and this works just as well as the PRT (the CP didn't work for me) but is WAY cheaper. If Doctor's Best Phosphatidyl Serine isn't working for you, ask your care provider about increasing the dosage.

I've been using this product for a few months now. I keep telling myself it's helping, and maybe it is. However, the days I feel sharper are also the days I have better good night sleep. Therefore, whatever the level of help I'm getting from this supplement doesn't measure up to the benefits of a good night sleep. I also did some research and found out that these supplements were originally made from pig brain. But because of the mad-cow disease concerns, they are now plant based. And there are some signs that the plant based version is not as effective as the pig brain version. Oh well, I guess I'll take a reduction in memory improvement over a potential of mad-cow syndrome. Another question is the quality and the amount of the supplement in this brand of capsule, or any other brand. Since there is no USP verification for Phosphatidyl Serine, we are at the mercy of the manufacturers. I wish an independent third party would sign up to this task.

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an amino acid derivative compound that is fat-soluble and found in high amounts in the brain, where it contributes to cognitive functioning. Found in high amounts in fish, it may improve memory in the elderly and lowers Cortisol. Phosphatidylserine, or PS, is a compound similar to a dietary fat which is highly prevalent in human neural tissue. It can be synthesized as well as consumed through the diet , but further benefits can be gained through supplementation. It is vital for cognitive function, but is not necessarily needed as the body synthesizes it. However, Phosphatidylserine (PS) supplementation in older individuals seems to improve memory and cognitive capacity. A standard dose of phosphatidylserine (PS) is 100mg, taken 3 times a day to total 300mg daily. This dose seems to be effective as a daily preventative against cognitive decline, and 100mg once daily may provide some degree of benefit (but may be lesser than 300mg). Studies in children and adolescents for the purpose of attention improvement tend to use 200mg, and a dose of 200-400mg has been used in adult non-elderly humans with success. Animal evidence tends to use a dose correlating to 550mg as well. 2 months of supplementation of 200mg Phosphatidylserine (PS) appears to improve symptoms of global and subscale attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders in children with ADHD, and secondary to improving symptoms of ADHD an improvement in short-term auditory memory and impulsivity was noted.
