It does what it's expected to. Tested it between various samples from the same source and readings we surprisingly close to each other. The main reason for the purchase is to monitor filtration of our well water. Found out that our current filtration system only decreased the TDS reading from 680 to 620. Disappointing, but that's what I needed to know.

Performs as expected. I've been using this devise about 3 weeks now. This is something that concerned people should have when your drinking water supply source is from a well of any kind. Also, can be used with city water suppl as well.Our conventional water usage is varied (everyday dish washing, bathing, cleaning, etc.), but our drinking water is manually filtered (i.e.: well know filter brand name filter-about $5 each) for drinking purposes. Drinking water should be less than 500 ppm. You can now tell precisely when your TDS are at the point (500 ppm or higher) and then to change the filer in your pitcher. This now also allows you to take precise readings of the TDS you have before your water softener device ... after the softener (i.e.: where you draw your water from the tap) and going into the brand name filter reservoir and so on. Easy to use and provides the user with valuable instant information right at home.
