Alfalfa Pellets for Rabbits & Small Pets, 4 lbs

My rabbits are split - UPDATE: they both love it now
UPDATE: I guess my other rabbit just needed some time to really think about whether he was ready to try something new. He came around just over a week ago and he now loves these just as much. Updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Both of my rabbits love alfalfa hay, but only one of them will eat these pellets. Why? I have no idea. They are senior rabbits, and only have supplemental alfalfa to help them maintain their weight (as recommended by their vet), and not so much that they don't want to eat their regular hay, so she only has a few of these a day, but she really enjoys them. I like that it doesn't have anything else added to them.I was concerned about them being too hard for my 7 & 9 year old bunnies, as another review mentioned, but the batch I received is not too hard at all. They are really easy for me to break to whatever length I choose with just my weak fingers. They are on par with the softness of all other pellets that we've tried. The bunnos have no trouble chewing them. They are a super bright green color and do turn her poop kind of bright green as well, which makes it pretty easy to tell which are hers and which are her boyfriends. It's only been a couple weeks but so far, so good! I guess the moral of the story is you really just can't ever tell if your pet will like something until you try it. Hope this helps!

My potato plants loved this as fertilizer
I used these to help fertilize my potato plants and my potatoes are growing very nicely .The bag was too big for what I needed so have way too many leftover pellets. I don't want to feed the neighborhood wild rabbits so they are sitting on a shelf in my house useless at this point. Hope they are still good to use next year. I know some out there may tell me to feed the rabbits but they are already eating my garden so aren't going to be hungry for these...plus I don't need to bring any more to my garden. At least the rabbits are leaving my potatoes alone, but the broccoli and cabbage aren't as lucky.

Great product
It looks and smells fresh not old and stale compared to store-bought food. I added it to my overweight gerbil's diet and now she seems slimmer after eating it for a week.

Perfect!
I’m not feeding anything except my garden. I make a tea with a handful of pellets in a gallon of water. Let it sit 3 days with a loose lid on it, then water my organic garden with the Nitrogen Tea👍🏼 Onebag makes a lot of tea too! Try it on your flowers, grass or any plant that loves nitrogen. You’ll love it too.

Quality dip
I’ve been buying these pellets for over a year now, both alfalfa and Timothy hay. The Timothy hay has been unavailable for some time so I’ve been feeding my rabbit the alfalfa version. Most recently I bought 2 bags, and finally opened the second bag a month after purchase. The pellets look very different, smell different, and my rabbit refused to touch them at first. After a few days, and mixing with some of the old, he finally ate some. Now his droppings have completely changed in consistency, and size.

Not for Senior Animal/Goat
Attempting to smash this with a kitchen tool & would not break even in half. Believe it would be best for wonderful Viking Farmer to refer this to horses or cows. My Nigerian doe has lost 2 molars in May & Aug. Not initially because of this product but it would eventually. It’s like giving your child a double whammy jar breaker. Love the product but doesn’t love her. Their alfalfa & orchid hay she loves!!!

Bunny don't like it
My bunny doesn't like this brand of alfalfa based pellet and hardly touch it. Threw it out after couple days and got another brand and bunny started eating again. It might be just my bunny so good luck
