THE FAMILY THAT SLAYED TOGETHER
Homicide Detective Daniel Ellis has been summoned by inmate Benjamin Wayne Fisher (also known as the Inland Empire Killer) to San Quentin, California's only death-row prison for men. Daniel has never met the Inland Empire Killer, but he knows a lot about him. Daniel is convinced that his mother was one of Ben's victims. The convicted serial killer, a master manipulator, is ready to share where he'd disposed of the bodies. He offers to show them where his victims are buried. BUT, with one stipulation. He won't lead them to the burial sites, unless his estranged daughter accompanies them. She hasn't spoken to him since he was taken away in handcuffs & arrested 30 years ago. She's never gone to see him in prison. When she was a child, her father used her as bait to lure young women to their death. As a child, her world revolved around her father. No amount of time would lessen the guilt Reni feels over her role in her father's sick game. She was complicit. Her father preyed upon young women & eluded law enforcement for years until one of his victims escaped, reported the attack and identified him. He claims to have killed close to 20 women.Bad memories are resurfacing. She wants to put off seeing her father as long as she can, but she also wants to get it over with. He's not the man she remembers from childhood. She's startled by his appearance. He leads them to the Mojave Desert the biggest killing field in the United States. The detective has been searching for his mother, who went missing 30 years ago. As the years passed, he went from hoping to find her alive to hoping to find her body. Finding her has become a life obsession. For Reni & Daniel, this isn't the end of a nightmare. It's only the beginning.

Great Read!
I am not one who usually reads novels. However, in trying to find something I would like I came across this gem. I am into true crime and this story really hit the spot. After the first few chapters I was thrown because the story was not what I thought it was going to be. From there, it was twist and turn over and over. I was thinking of giving the book 4 stars until the last few chapters, but the ending was just perfect. 5 Stars!

Gripping story
Woo wee. What a read. I read this in a day even though the storyline was disturbing and the cover well it’s not the most appealing. I was totally hooked and the evil, twisty and nasty storyline was gripping and page turning. I am looking forward to the next in the series as this was just such a good read. A 5 star read and one I would recommend you pick up if you like the darker side of crime thrillers.

Sociopaths in love.
I really enjoyed the book, look forward to reading more in this series. For me I had entire plot of the book very early in the book, but kept reading to see if I was right or if there would be surprises. No surprises for me, but it was a good story with lots of local color if you live in the Inland Empire .
