Next Wave: Discovering the 21st Century Church

Next Wave is a thoughtful dive into the issues we are facing right now as we try to reach out to people during a global pandemic. Church buildings are empty or draw only those willing to risk being infected with COVID. Even lifetime church goers are "done" with church as we know it. God is doing something new, something fresh. A Facebook friend of mine had a post recommending this book. The author happened to be an acquaintance from back home in Utah. For a long time now, I’ve been processing the thought that the church is fighting a losing battle. We have become irrelevant to the outside world. I couldn’t put the book down! Steve makes a great case for the 21st century church to think, believe, and act differently, if we ever want to thrive in this new age.

Anyone planting or pastoring a church in or near the city, or anywhere really, will benefit greatly from reading this book. Steve uses his years of experience helping dozens (perhaps hundreds) of churches throughout the United States to speak to pastors today about what works and what doesn't for today's churches. If you can't have Steve as a personal mentor, this is the next best thing! Highly recommend this book.
