Brilliantly melodic.
This is the second string set that has made me realised that how much of an impact gauge can make on your playing. The first was daddario flat wounds, those make you play Jazz. However, Gilmour’s boomers are excellent for playing melodic rock solos. Instantly you sound like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton and the sorts. G is unwounded thus soft to bend and has a sharp tone. Gives a nice bell tone on a strat. The top 3 strings e,a,d seem rigid when you come up from playing the bottom 3 g,b,E. The overall strum sounds balanced with a slightly heavy base notes and relatively shrill high notes without much of mids. Which somehow sounds clear and crisp. One thing I am sure of is these are going to be rusty very soon.

Excellent. Happy with the purchase.
I used to use 8-38 extra light string sets either at my 3 QE-Acoustics or at the 2 of my 5 Electric that needed re-string one day.One of the electric, although with careful setup, action adjustment, fret rod calibration etc from day 1, it had several problems of buzzing, intonation after the 12-15th fret etc and I was ready to return it to the Seller. Afterwards I decided to experiment with the GHS David Gilmour set, just to see what will happen with this thicker combination, although more difficult for bending and barre cords.I was right. The instrument is perfect now, without to change anything at the setup. No buzzing, much more accurate intonation at the upper area, beyond the 15-1th frets. Thanks David/Seller/Amazon...

Great tone & great strings!
Only downside; They did not make me play like DG. But other than that you get a great tonal range from these strings especially if you're using on a Fender Stratocaster.I use them on my American Professional II Stratocaster and I really like the feel and quality especially when bending... Again these won't make you play like DG but hey, what else can???

GHS strings have been good to me, how about you?
Hi. I used D'addario strings for years, but then they started to break on me. (Maybe that's why D'addario starting issuing those more expensive variants of strings). Also, I had some Ernie ball strings break, but not as often. Ernie's are dang good. For the price, GHS strings are just fine, and as for this unusual gauge of strings 10.5 - 50, it's great that Dave Gilmour endorsed them, but it could have been Bozo the Clown for all I cared. A cool set of strings, these 10.5-50, that I keep onhand for two of my guitars, a strat and a Mosrite copy. Return to the mothership, Putin and Trump.
