The perfect mtb clipless pedal
I've been using these pedals for the last couple of months and can't fault them. It took some time to get comfortable using clipless pedals coming from flat pedals but I don't think I could go back. The pedals are well built and still look new even after a number of crashes. Would definitely recommend them

Had to return for exchange due to very stiff mech and rough bearings after a few weeks use.Hopefully replacements will fair better.Already running a set on another bike with no problems so maybe a dodgy set.

Great clipless pedal, really solid.
Swapped from Shimano to Crank brothers and overall a good change. Foot hold is great, release v easy, just lacks the snap you get with the shimano SPDs which you get use to after a couple of rides.

EXCEPTIONAL pedal.
Long-time SPD/Shimano user here. Amazon had the best price I could find on the standard spindle Mallet E. Fantastic platform quality, etc. The reason you'd buy these is the entry mechanism. There is a much greater margin of error to get your foot clipped in than the SPD. I've been on SPD's for 25+ years, and it took me 4-5 rides to be equally comfortable clipping into these. I will say that with the included clips the float is much higher, and take a more forceful and deliberate twist to get your foot out. This is definitely worth the tradeoff to be able to clip in, the feel underfoot when in, and the quality of the pedal is XTR/Saint-level for sure. I'll try the zero float cleat, and see if that helps with the clipping out. Only complaint I have (that doesn't affect the rating of the product) is that I was missing one pin on the left pedal. I was going to buy a bag of spares anyways but for a pedal at this level, QC should have caught that.

Worth the moneys
Before writing the review, I've been abusing these pedals trough black tech terrain territory with good results for the last couple months. Very happy with how these pedals have been performing; however, for the price, I wish that Crank Brothers would include the shims that are required for the setup. The Mallet Enduro pedals are very durable, the pedals metal construction holds up well against rock strikes and the construction of them feels very solid overall. The pedals also do very well in muddy conditions, they are able to clear the mud to keep the clips working effectively. The Clips do a good job keeping my feet attached to the pedal while riding. The standard cleat included provides some degree of float/foot movement.I attached the standard cleats to FiveTen Stealth shoes, the cleats required shimming and additional time & care went into setup. Shimming was required so that cleat engage and release from the pedal properly. Angling the 'Standard Release' cleats inwards provided easier release.
