Great controller with no lag
If you go looking for review on this controller on YouTube like I did you will find mostly negative opinions and I find this rather baffling to be honest. I love this controller. I am using it on a real N64 (Pal UK version just in case that matters) and it works perfectly with zero lag (at least I can't detect any and I'm a fussy so and so!). It is very easy to set up with clear easy to understand instructions. The buttons feel good to me as does the analog stick. It is worth noting that the Z trigger that is usually underneath on an original N64 controller is on the top usually where L/R 2 button is on regular controllers. there are two Z triggers both L and R but they both act as the Z trigger for left for right handed players. This seems to make sense to me and feels right. There is no socket for mem cards or rumble packs sadly, but you can still use mem cards as the receiver that plugs into the N64 has the socket there instead. There is even a feature to move save states from carts to mem cards but I have not used that as yet. The receiver is a little on the large side and does look a bit cumbersome on the front of your console but this is a minor point and would not deter me from buying it.It uses standard Bluetooth so you can use this with any device that supports it, PC Android handhelds etc.On the whole I love this controller, makes for a tidy cable free way to play retro games on the N64, Love the thing!

Excellent little controller with a lot of features
I've recently gotten into playing retro games again and after dusting my N64 off I decided I didn't want to ruin the sticks on the controllers I had and found that the 3rd party ones I had been using were no longer as comfortable as they were.Enter the Hyperkin Admiral, I have looked at this controller in the past and had decided against it at the time as I was happy with emulating on my PC and using an Xbox controller but lately I'd been jonesing for some action on the console itself. The controller weighs about the same as an original N64 controller so the switch from that to the admiral should be negligible in terms of weight but perhaps not in terms or size as it is a fair amount smaller than an original controller - its more akin to the Hori mini pad except a little bigger. The wireless dongle that plugs into your N64 supports 1st and 3rd party memory paks as well as the rumble paks (although its worth noting that this would cause your entire system to rumble and it is advised against even in the instruction manual) the only thing that isn't supported by the dongle is the transfer pak that pokemon stadium used but there is a workaround for that. The dongle also has the ability to transfer your saves from a memory pak to a microSD card (not included) and vice-versa which is handy given the games for an N64 are approaching 30 years old and it never hurts to make backups. The control stick is more the Gamecube style rather than an N64 joystick which is actually my preference as I much prefer that style of control stick but I would understand if it wasn't to everybody's tastes. The buttons all feel nice and responsive and are of a decent size without taking up too much space. This controller can also be used on a PC as it is bluetooth as well as the Nintendo Switch although an update may be required in order to use it on the Switch. A word of warning though is that the program the instruction manual points you to download was marked as a trojan by my antivirus and thus wasn't downloadable but thankfully my controller seemed to be pre-updated to work with the switch which is nice.I'm sure the file was a false-positive but I didn't feel safe disabling my antivirus/firewall for the sake of one program so be warned about that if you intend to use it with the switch and need to update. All in all from the day or two I've had this controller so far I can say I am very impressed with it and would recommend getting it if you're looking to start playing through your oldies again but want a more modern controller layout.

A great modern alternative to the N64 controller
First off, this a great controller design and button layout. I can touch all the inputs without it feeling awkward or taking my hand off the grip to hold it a certain way. For today's standards in controllers, it feels great. The grips themselves with how they curve though is a bit iffy at best, but it's not as bulky and helps lock my hand in place so I don't slip when doing something too intensive. The bluetooth however is an issue. I use this mainly for emulators and the big issue I have with it is that the BT signal isn't great with stuff like unrecognized inputs and stick drifting even with not touching it. But when using the receiver, (I have an N64 to USB adapter for this) the signal is perfect. All inputs register and function as "nintended". Sorry, couldn't resist that. It's definitely better and more versatile than other third-party controllers (looking at you, Retro Fighters) and I feel it draws out the most potential for N64 gameplay, be it for proper hardware or emulator use.

Most responsive wireless n64 controller I've tried
I've been trying to find a good wireless n64 controller for years, this one so far has been good for me. The response time feels similar to playing with a real controller. My only problem so far has been that the right Z button keeps getting stuck, but I think that issue might be specific to the controller I got so I don't think I would leave a bad review based solely on that.
